A new project has captured my mind. Day and night, I was thinking about the project - What can we/I do? How? When? Who? These questions flooded my mind and thoughts raced from one idea to another. I must write it down otherwise these ideas will just run through and disappear. [Lord, if the ideas are not from You, help me to let go. If the ideas are from You, help me not to let go. Thank You, God! Amen!]
For the first time, I saw the words ‘WHEN YOU GIVE’ and realized that Jesus did not say ‘IF YOU GIVE’. In other words, He expects us to give and He is teaching us how to give.
God is the most generous Giver! He is the Greatest Giver! He gave us His one and only begotten Son. He gives and He gives and He gives. We will receive IF we choose to receive. Yes! He gives us free choice to choose whether we want to receive His Gift.
I tend to analyze and judge a person before giving - whether he deserves it or not. Today, the Holy Spirit spoke into my heart, “If God were to judge every person, He would not give anything at all.” How true! We have all fallen short of His glory. He made us perfect – in His image – what have we done? We must restore the image so that mankind will once again reflect the glory of God. Amen!
Let Christians give not because so-and-so deserves it but because so-and-so is LOVED BY GOD. Romans 12 tells us how to live as living sacrifices and verse 8 says: We have different gifts, according to the grace given us… if it is contributing to the needs of others, LET HIM GIVE GENEROUSLY.
Thank You God for giving us the Greatest Gift – the Gift of Salvation through Jesus Christ. When we receive Christ, we will receive everything we need.
Apostle Paul said, “Whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ.” Father, you sent Paul to tell us that everything is a loss compared to the SURPASSING GREATNESS of KNOWING CHRIST JESUS.
Father, hear my prayer: I also want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, attain to the resurrection from the dead. (Philippians 3:7-11) Amen!
Song: All I Once Held Dear (Robin Mark)
All I once held dear built my life upon / All this world reveres and wars to own / All I once thought gain I have counted loss / Spent and worthless now compared to this / Knowing You, Jesus knowing You / There is no greater thing / You’re my all You’re the best / You’re my joy my righteousness / And I love You, Lord / Now my heart’s desire is to know You more / To be found in You and known as Yours / To possess by faith what I could not earn / All surpassing gift of righteousness / Knowing You, Jesus knowing You / There is no greater thing / You’re my all You’re the best / You’re my joy my righteousness / And I love you, Lord / Oh, to know the power of your risen life / And to know You in Your sufferings / To become like You in Your death, my Lord / So with You to live and never die / Knowing You, Jesus knowing You / There is no greater thing / You’re my all You’re the best / You’re my joy my righteousness / And I love You, Lord / And I love You, Lord / And I love You, Lord…
