KNOWING AGAINST ALL ODDS THAT GOD IS FOR YOU

27 April 2021

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you

— 1 Thessalonians 5:18

We as believers often say, “God is good!” and thank Him in a specific situation.

We thank Him when a life is spared, when a job is saved or when it seems like He met our prayers.

How about when our self-centered prayers were not met, when healing did not happen or when our child did not change despite prayer?

Is God still good then?

Truth is, our circumstances do not define God’s goodness. Even when our physical circumstances are dire, God is present and working for our good and His glory at his time.

Purposefully focusing on giving Him thanks opens the door to joy and peace in any situation!!

Hallelujah!!

LIVING PEACEFULLY AMIDST IT ALL

24 April 2021

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control against such things there is no law.

— Galatians 5:22-23

Do our lives reflect the fruit of the Spirit? Are we carefree, easy going and living a godly life ?

Living a godly life does not make us perfect. Just as Jesus was tempted, so will we be

tempted but not fall into sin.

God created work, money, food, relationships to sustain us and bring us enjoyment, but it was never meant to control us.

We get hit and spin out of control by letting our desires lead our decisions, our lives and our bodies.

Drinking too much and getting headache, lashing out in anger and regretting, working too much and suffering burn out?

The temptation to always do it or do more runs deep inside of us, but as believers, we have the Holy Spirit in us who give us the strength to stand up and say no to temptation.

Friends, let’s not quench the Holy Spirit by using our pride to block out God's goodness in

our lives!!

Hallelujah!!

LET'S NOT BE FAZED, BUT BELIEVE IN FAITH

22 April 2021

“Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.

— Mark 5:36

Many told Jairus to stop bothering Jesus as his daughter had died and they probably did not believe Jesus can help in this case.

They told him that his "FAITH" in Jesus is "FUTILE".

Today, we may be fighting our own battles in stress, relationships, work, financials or health.

Exhausting all options, it may seem like there is no more hope or there is nothing more we can do. Worst, people around us may be echoing the same or trying to ask you to place faith in other things.

Today, Jesus is telling us to stand "FIRM" and "BELIEVE" in Him no matter what we see or hear from the environment around us.

Do not let the Physical distract us from the "HOPE" and "POWER" of God.

And we all know, Jairus experienced his breakthrough by following Jesus!!

Hallelujah!!!

FINDING OUR SELF-WORTH IN CHRIST BLOCKS OUT JUDGEMENT AND BUILDS UP LOVE IN US

20 April 2021

“Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?

— Matthew 7:3

What is your self-worth based on today? Placing our self-worth in things (financials, respect, status) apart from Christ raises us on a pedestal making us think highly of ourselves.

The danger of that is we position ourselves as judges of others rather than simply as lovers of others.

Worse, it becomes natural to us that when we notice our judgmental speech, we think we are being righteous for calling out others.

We call out on people what we may have also been doing or felt inside. How hypocritical is that?

Finding our self-worth in Jesus, He teaches us not to put ourselves above any one as we all need the love/grace of God to be better human beings.

Friends, let’s find our self-worth not in the ever-changing instability of the world but in our stable and unchanging God.

Hallelujah!!

WHY FIT IN WITH THE LIVING DEAD WHEN WE CAN STAND OUT BY TRULY LIVING!

19 April 2021

“Enter through the narrow gate. For WIDE is the gate and broad is the road that leads to DESTRUCTION, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and NARROW the road that leads to LIFE, and only a few find it.

— Matthew 7:13-14

How many people have we met that can say they are truly living?

Majority of the world are like the living dead bondaged to pleasures or desires as our human nature gravitates towards that.

Hence, many choose the wide gate over the narrow gate as it’s easier to choose earthly pleasures over being a disciple of Jesus.

We know what's bad for us but are unable to do what's right because of an internal war raging within us.

Following Christ is not easy as His teachings are a stark contrast to the world's.

But with this hard road, we attain life by being set free from the demands and trappings of the world!!

Hallelujah!!

Prayer

Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank You for Your grace and mercy upon us.

Lord, please give us strength and wisdom daily so that we learn to not fall into the trappings of the world and instead into the security of Lord Jesus.

In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.

ACTIVE AND CONSISTENT PRAYER STRENGTHENS AND RENEWS US FOR OUR DAILY TASKS

16 April 2021

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

— Mark 1:35

Can we imagine how exhausting Jesus' life is? The day before this, He was healing the sick, casting out the demons and teaching.

Despite the work, it's clear that Jesus finds it important to have alone time with God in prayer before starting His day to be equipped to handle all that comes.

Solitary time can be when our mind is free from distractions upon waking up, moments of quietness to minutes before a meeting.

Initially, quiet time with God is intentional and requires effort but once in swing, becomes natural and consistent.

It’s about building our relational time with God, sharing what’s on our hearts and asking Him questions and answers.

In doing so, He Strengthens and Renews us daily!

Hallelujah!

Prayer

Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank You for Your gift of Jesus who bridges the gap between You, almighty God and us.

Lord, as we go through our daily lives may we learn to come to You in solitude prayer so that we can hear Your voice and direction in all that we do!!

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

STAYING OPEN TO GOD'S WILL HELPS US MAKE RIGHT DECISIONS

14 April 2021

“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.

— Isaiah 30:21

Have we ever made decisions only to regret it or feel like there could be a better way? I know I have 😂

Hence, making right decisions are crucial as a wrong choice brings consequences and regrets.

Today, are we making choices on our own knowledge rather than asking God for his direction?

When we ask God for guidance, He speaks to us and guides us in all.

While some may literally hear His voice, God has manifested His insights to me at least in my humble experience through:

- Complete derailment of my plans

- Closing doors to certain plans before anything else happens

- Surrounding me with wise counsel that I can look to for advice.

That's why it's so exciting to live in God’s will as I know that no matter what I am going through, His plans will always be the best for me!!

Hallelujah!

Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank You for Your plans which are always good for us.

Lord, as we go through the ups and downs in life, please draw us closer to You so that we learn to trust in You and lean on You.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

ARE YOU WATERING DOWN YOUR FAITH TODAY?

12 April 2021

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

— 1 Corinthians 15:58

Will there be times when our faith is shaken by circumstances, people's words or our internal struggles?

Definitely, hence this verse instructs us to stand firm no matter what is happening around us.

To stand firm in anything requires internal motivation.

Our motivation => influences our minds => translates into our actions.

Choosing to be motivated by God in all that we do (ministry, work, family) we find rest and our lives falls under His good direction/influence.

His promise is also that we will experience His goodness in our lives as our perseverance will surely not be in vain.

Hallelujah!

Prayer

Dear God Our Heavenly Father, we thank for loving us even before we knew You.

Lord, please increase our faith so that we learn to cast away distractions that we have and to constantly seek You to guide our way always!!

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

ATTAINING PEACE AND REFRESHMENT IN TODAY'S TIRED WORLD

10 April 2021

“May my teaching drop as the rain, my speech distill as the dew, like gentle rain upon the tender grass, and like showers upon the herb.

— Deuteronomy 32:2

What have been dropping on us recently? Would it be work stress, expectations or our inner battles ?

What we allow to drop on us increasingly influences us, shaping our thoughts.

Jesus teaches us that He does not take us out of the world but He will give us a joy and fulfillment that can only be found in Him alone.

God has already spoken through His Word and promises us clarity and life when we enter into His rest.

Do you believe it or have open your hearts to Jesus?

Hallelujah!

Prayer

Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank You for Your life-transforming Word made so accessible to us today.

Lord, we ask for You to get rid of our excuses and distractions so that we learn to spend time

in Your teachings and to gain Your wisdom in our lives!!

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

TAPPING ON GOD'S GOODNESS

09 April 2021

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful

— Colossians 4:2

How often do we pray to God? Probably not as often as we should.

Prayer is an offering upwards of our requests unto God, in the name of Christ, by the help of His Spirit and giving thanks for His grace.

But the main point of prayer is the expression of our reliance on God and not on ourselves.

God loves to show the fullness of His grace in meeting the needs of humble, dependent praying people, because it glorifies him.

As we pray everyday to God for even the slightest of things, we may not realise it but our faith intensifies.

When our faith deepens, our lives changes for the better according to God's will.

Hallelujah!!

Prayer

Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank You for sending Jesus to save us so that we can now dwell in Your throne of grace.

Lord, please draw us closer to You so that we learn to develop our personal relationship with You through prayer!!

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

MAGNANIMOUS HUMBLE LIVING COMES BY LIVING WITH A REALISATION OF GOD'S MERCY

08 April 2021

“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

— Luke 6:36

A magnanimous person has a generous spirit, easily forgives and is not resentful.

This verse is calling for us to forgive people, to not fight evil with evil and show grace to others.

Just as God showed us mercy by forgiving us instead of destroying us, so does he want us to extend His grace and forgiveness to people seemingly undeserving of it.

God knows that forgiving is difficult but He also knows the JOY that comes from being free of judgement and pride.

Friends, the key is to be consistently reflecting on the mercy of God towards us keeping us humble and thankful.

Hallelujah!!

Prayer

Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank You for Your mercy and goodness upon us.

Lord, we ask for a humble spirit to be upon us so that we learn to be truly magnanimous and generous!!

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

CHOOSE TO SEEK PEACE INSTEAD OF CONFLICT

06 April 2021

“Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses.

— Proverbs 10:12

A self-reflection for me today was this: do I keep calm dealing with a non-family member maintaining composure but instead careless with my words on my children or spouse?

Mother Theresa shared that the key to overcoming hatred is to first make our homes real places of love.

We are called to walk in love but so often:

- In our heart lies bitterness

- On our tongue lies ugly words

- In our attitude lies pride

Let's reflect on how we are reacting to tensions at home be it our kids throwing tantrums or our spouses getting on our nerves.

I believe that God gives us difficult situations in order to train us to react correctly.

Let’s choose:

- Restoring by fighting harshness with gentleness over

- Retaliating by harshness with harshness.

Hallelujah!!

Prayer

Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank You for loving us and for showing us Your mercy and grace.

Lord, as we face situations that test our patience, we ask for patience and humility to be upon us so that we learn how to react and respond lovingly and encouragingly!!

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

WHO CAN HELP US BUT GOD

05 April 2021

“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

— 2 Thessalonians 3:3

Since Adam/Eve till today, the evil one has always been satan.

Just as satan planted doubt into Eve causing her to turn away from God, he shoots arrows of doubts at us causing us to turn away from God and focus on our problems.

The devil wants us to discount God’s involvement and presence in our lives.

Yes, our world is filled with events that causes great anxiety and it is easy to be overwhelmed and live imprisoned by fear of the unknown.

But, we can choose to trust and seek help in God who is our refuge and strength, a very PRESENT (EXISTING) help in trouble.

God knows our weakness and knows that our faith may fail. Hence, all the more He wants us to lean on him!!

Hallelujah!!

Prayer

Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank You for loving us even before we knew You.

Lord, please draw us nearer to You so that we know that You are God and to lean on You for our everything and protection.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

LOOKING TO GOD AS OUR SOURCE OF SATISFACTION

1 April 2021

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

— Psalm 23:1

Many times, we think we know what we "NEED" but end up "WANTING", stressing ourselves or family.

In this psalm, God is using the analogy of sheep to describe us. Just like sheep, we tend to get distracted and go astray following the lusts of our flesh, eyes and pursuing the pride of life.

Therefore, we need our loving and mighty Lord to always guide us.

Being shepherded by our Lord, He gives us:

- Rest in our tired world

- Peace in our troubled world

- Rejuvenates us to handle each day

- Discernment to walk in His ways and lead a joyful life.

Friends, let’s hold on to this truth knowing that we are never alone and always looked after.

Hallelujah!!

Prayer

Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank You for drawing us closer to You and for loving us.

Lord, please teach us each and every day to lean on You for direction and guidance so that living water will flow from within us!!

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
