I don’t like noise but I have learned to be quiet amidst noise. I have learned to shut down / cut myself out from the noise around me. However, there are times when I fail to focus. My spirit refuses to settle into quietness…
Jesus often withdraws to a quiet place to pray. Even Jesus, the Son of God needs to be quiet with God. Jesus is often ministering in the crowd. He is able to hear God even amidst the noise. I want to be like Jesus, connected to God the Father at all times.
Jesus is always calm. He is never in a hurry. Jesus is the Prince of Peace. We can rest in Him even when we are busy. We can rest in Him even when we are caught in a commotion, chaos or calamity. Thanks be to God. In quietness and trust, we find strength. (Isaiah 30:15b)
Dear Father God,
What are Your thoughts when You see us scurrying around trying to get things done?
What are You saying when You see us flustered, frustrated or fearful?
“Be still, my child. Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10)
Be Still (Hillsong Worship)
Be still and know / That the Lord is in control / Be still my soul / Stand and watch as giants fall / I won’t be afraid / If You are here / You silence all my fear
I won’t be afraid / You don’t let go / Be still my heart and know / I won’t be afraid
Be still and trust / What the Lord has said is done / Find rest, don’t strive / Watch as faith and grace align
I won’t be afraid / If You are here / You silence all my fear / I won’t be afraid / You don’t let go / Be still my heart and know / I won’t be afraid
I won’t be afraid
Surely love and mercy / Your peace and kindness / Will follow me / Will follow me…
Thank You Lord.
