Scripture Reference: Matthew 21:18-22
I think we are the fig tree. When Jesus comes and finds that we have nothing except leaves, what do you think Jesus would say?
Jesus cursed the fig tree that was not bearing any fruit, “May you never bear fruit again!” and immediately the tree withered. The disciples were amazed by the power of Jesus’ words.
“I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. IF YOU BELIEVE, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
The power of our words spoken in prayer is beyond our human imagination. We must watch our words. But first, we must guard our heart.
Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. (Proverbs 4:23)
In just one second, a thought is generated from our heart to our mind, and out of our mouth goes a word… Jesus is telling us that our words can move mountains IF we have faith and do not doubt.
“IF YOU BELIEVE, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
“Ask and it will be given to you; Seek and you will find; Knock and the door will be opened to you.” (Luke 11:9)
Dear Father God,
This is my desire to honor You/Lord, with all my heart I worship You/All I have within me I give You praise/All that I adore is in You/Lord, I give You my heart/I give You my soul/I live for You alone/Every breath that I take/Every moment I’m awake Lord, have Your way in me… (song)
You also said,
I pray that out of the depth of my heart, living waters will flow. In Jesus’ powerful name I pray. Amen!
