Quiet Time With Jesus – Questions and Answers

Friday, 24 August 2018

Many Christians (myself included) are perplexed when we look around and see our loved ones unsaved. “When?” I kept asking the Lord. My eyes saw these words: TRUST in His Timing; RELY on His Promises; WAIT for His Answers; BELIEVE in His Miracles; REJOICE in His Goodness; RELAX in His Presence; And the tiny words: Come near to God and He will come near to you (James 4:8).

The KEY is to go near to God and He will respond. Let us trust Him. Let us rely on what He has promised. Let us wait patiently. Let us believe that the unimaginable will happen. Let us rejoice in all circumstance because we know that GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME. Let us relax in His Presence because we know that in His Presence is fullness of joy, peace unspeakable and love unexplainable.

When I was a young Christian and a Sunday School teacher, I frequently asked myself, “Look at your children. Are they saved? Will they remain saved?”

I had wished that I knew God earlier in my life and brought my children to church when they were younger. I had wished that I knew God earlier in my life i.e. when I was a child and learned the Bible when I was young. Today, I have difficulty remembering names, places, stories, and verse numbers. No matter how hard I try to remember, I still struggle. Finally, I consoled myself, “Well, I think God wants me to open my Bible again and again to search for the verses so that I will read them again and again, again and again. If I remember so well, I might not do it.” God is good all the time! And all the time, God is good!

I started attending church in 1999 when I was 46 years old. It’s never too old to draw near to God. Think about Smith Wigglesworth. I believe God was already present in my life since I was conceived. I have always turned to His Invisible Presence and talked to Him about everything – when I’m happy or when I’m sad, when I’m calm or when I’m mad. He was, and is, and always will be my closest Friend. He is the same Friend yesterday, today and forever. He has not changed. When my firstborn gave me my first Bible, I was absolutely delighted.

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

You are the most creative Guardian of our lives. You sent Your Son Jesus to die on the cross so that we may live. Jesus has come to seek and save the lost. He is still seeking and saving souls, tirelessly working through us. Thank You for the ever-present Holy Spirit who enables and empowers us to love all people like You do.

Father God, I thank You for what You have done – sending Jesus to us. Lord Jesus, I thank You for what You have done – dying on the cross for us. Father God, I thank You for what You have done – raising Jesus from the dead, defeating death. Holy Spirit, I thank You for what You are doing in us and through us, loving us and loving people around us.

Father, You are the Great I Am. You are omnipotent, omniscient… my ever-present help at times of need. You are my Saviour. You are my Lord. You are my God, my Deliverer, and my Rock in whom I take refuge. You are my Shield, my Salvation, and my Stronghold.

Song: One Way

I lay my life down at Your feet; You’re the only one I need; I turn to You and you were always there; In troubled times it’s You I seek; I put You first; That’s all I need; I humble all I am, all to You!

One Way Jesus, You’re the only one that I could live for; One Way Jesus, You’re the only one that I could live for;

You were always, always there; Every how and everywhere; Your grace abounds so deeply within me; You will never ever change, yesterday, today the same; Forever till forever meets no end;

You are the way, the truth and the life; We live by faith and not by sight for you; We’re living all for You!

Amen!
