A godly man who had preached the Gospel powerfully and led many notorious people to Christ met a tragic road accident. He died instantly. I don’t understand why his life ended this way.
Another godly man who had also preached the Gospel powerfully and led millions of people to Christ is alive suffering (from illness). Isn’t it better for him to go home? Is it better to die suddenly or to live longer in pain? My friend said, “I always pray that I will grow old gracefully and die peacefully.” I thought, “Yes, that would be good for me too.”
Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do good things happen to bad people? I don’t think any Christian is able to give a reasonable answer. But by the grace of God, we should be able to speak words of comfort and love - through divine revelation.
We carry the presence of God wherever we go. We can change atmospheres (e.g. from a hostile or indifferent atmosphere to a warm atmosphere filled with the peace and love of God). It should always be the case the moment a Christian steps into a room. Thanks be to God! He has given us the Holy Spirit. May His holiness saturate every kind of atmosphere and people may know that we are His vessels. Amen!
Dear ABBA Father,
Today, I pray for each and every Christian in the world. Jesus said (in John 16:33) that in Him we will have peace. In this world we will have trouble. But we are to take heart. Jesus our Lord and Savior has overcome the world. Therefore, in Him, we will be able to overcome the world too! Hallelujah!
Father, I will not ask for the reason when bad things happen to good people or when wicked people prosper from doing wicked deeds because I know YOU ARE GOD! You are PURE and HOLY! You cannot tolerate sin! You have not changed at all. You are the same yesterday, today and forever. You are the Everlasting God! Heaven and earth will pass away, but Your words will never pass away. Amen! (Matthew 24:35)
I know You have a perfect plan – a redemptive plan. Therefore, I pray and ask for divine revelation to the Body of Christ, so that we may align ourselves individually and corporately according to Your perfect plan. Amen!
Thanks be to God! Glory to God! Amen!
