Quiet Time with Jesus – Intentional

Thursday, 10 August 2017

A sister-in-Christ said, “We must be intentional in everything we do.” Her words caught my attention.

Yes! If we are not intentional, it is very easy to become lukewarm Christians. The Early Church was not lukewarm. They faced persecution but persisted in preaching the Truth.

Someone said that students who have grit are more likely to succeed. She defined ‘grit’ as having passion and perseverance, having stamina and sticking with your future – day in and day out, working really hard. She said that grit is living life like a marathon.

Yes! When we have passion and perseverance in seeking God, we will find Him. When we are intentional in everything we do for the Kingdom, we will seize every opportunity to share the Good News.

Jesus said in John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” I choose to believe Jesus.

Apostle Paul said in 1 Peter 5:8-9 “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” I choose to be vigilant.

I am no longer living a life that will end. I am living my life like a marathon… Yes! My life in Christ has no end. Jesus said in John 10:28 “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand.” I choose to believe Jesus.

My Prayer

Dear Father God, sanctify us by the Truth; Your Word is Truth.

Jesus had prayed, “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world. Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

What a gloriously wonderful prayer!

Father God, You are able to make all things new. We have not been listening and living life Your Way. Forgive us LORD!

Today and everyday, we shall live life like a marathon because we know that in Christ, we will never grow weary.

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but THOSE WHO HOPE IN THE LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
— Isaiah 40:28-31

I believe!

Amen!
