Quiet Time with Jesus – Delight Yourself In The LORD

Friday, 12 May 2017

We often hear missions trippers confess that they feel more blessed than having blessed others. When I first went on a missions trip, I prepared myself to teach but I returned absolutely grateful that I have learned much from the people to whom I was ministering to.

As a child, I have often been encouraged by these words: When there’s a will, there’s a way. One pastor was encouraging his congregation to live heart first. He said, “We all have the ability to live heart first, thanks to our will and the power of the Holy Spirit at work within us.” First, we must submit our will to His Will. Then the power of the Holy Spirit works within us. What comes to pass is: His Will is done on earth as it is in heaven. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!

One good example is Mother Teresa. She lived a surrendered life. I love to remind myself of her words: “In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love.”

People who live heart first willingly YIELD their plans to God’s plans. They don’t set aside their desires, per se, because they remember Psalm 37:4, where God promises to give us the desires of our hearts. Yet they live with Proverbs 16:9 in mind: “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.

My Prayer

Song: Change my heart O God; Make it ever true; Change my heart, O God; May I be like You; You are the potter, I am the clay; Mold me and make me; This is what I pray. Amen!

I want to live heart first. Some people advise, “Follow your heart.” Father God, I do not want to follow my heart if it is not aligned to Yours. I do not want to go where Your presence is not going. Without the power of Your Holy Spirit, I can do nothing.

Dear Father God, I pray for all my brothers and sisters in Christ: Enable us to surrender our lives to You, align our will to Your Will and yield our plans to Yours. We will shout for joy in victory! We will lift up our banners in Your Name!
