Quiet Time with Jesus – God, I look to You

LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous...
— Psalm 15:1-2a

Apostle Paul tells us that we are the temple of the living God. (2 Corinthians 6:16) God has used Paul to give us the richest revelation of His grace - there is NOTHING WE CAN DO to earn salvation. It is only by His grace that we are saved through faith in Christ Jesus.

God has also used Paul to reveal to us the power of His grace. Paul tells us that God made Christ who had no sin to be sin for us, so that IN HIM we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)

The LORD commanded Adam,

You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.
— Genesis 2:16-17

God told Adam the consequence that he will face but Adam chose to remember the first part of God's command ‘free to eat...’ and not the second part 'but you must not...'

GRACE is like a coin. On one side is the free gift of SALVATION. On the other side is the free choice of SUBMISSION. I thank God that it is by grace that we are being cleansed (with the Word), covered (by the Blood) and clothed (in Christ).

In Jesus’ letter to the Church in Sardis, He said,

I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your deeds complete in the sight of God. REMEMBER, THEREFORE, WHAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED AND HEARD; OBEY IT, AND REPENT. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.
— Revelation 3:1-3

Jesus said that there are a FEW people who have NOT soiled their clothes. They will walk with Him, dressed in white (purity & holiness), for they are worthy.

He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. Jesus will never blot out his name from the book of life… (Revelation 3:4-5)

The fact that Jesus said He will 'never blot out the names' tells me that He can and will blot out the names of those who soil their clothes.

By grace, we are clothed in Christ. By grace we can choose whether to keep our clothes white or soil them. Let us not ignore the consequences stated in Revelation 3.

I love the words of a song: “God I look to You; I won’t be overwhelmed; Give me vision; To see things like You do; God I look to You; You’re where my help comes from; Give me wisdom; You know just what to do; I will love You Lord my strength; I will love You Lord my shield; I will love You Lord my rock; Forever all my days; I will love You God.”

Amen!

The LORD is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth. (Psalm 145:18)
