Quiet Time with Jesus – Be Solemnly Warned!

Discernment is a big word. What does it mean when we ask God for discernment?

“What would you like to discern?”

“The truth” (I want to know WHAT caused 'it'... I want to know WHO is responsible - is it the devil or the world or our own flesh?)

When it is revealed, I should know HOW to deal with it because I believe God will show me.

Thank God for His Word and His Spirit!

Our firm foundation is in Jesus. He is the Word. If we feed on the Word, we will grow like Jesus grew when He was on planet Earth. If we look to the Father like Jesus did, and do what we see the Father do… we will progressively do greater things… Our LIFE will be guided by Biblical Principles aka Kingdom Principles. We will reflect the Kingdom LIFE. Hallelujah!

God always heals my heart first. He will let me suffer for a little while usually emotionally, sometimes physically… And then, after I have gone through the difficult part, He will make a way for me... As I apply what He has taught me, my soul heals, my body heals… The more tests I go through, the quicker I respond to His Spirit. The more I draw near to God, the more I am convinced of His love for me, the more I want to please Him, the more I want to obey Him, the more I want to do what He wants me to do, the more I want to be like Him. Sometimes I may miss the point. Sometimes I may run ahead of Him. Sometimes I may run in the wrong direction. But, I have no fear because I know He is near and He will bring me back on track. Amen!

One morning as I walked into the sanctuary, my mentor appeared before me and tears rolled down her cheeks! I asked her, “Why are you crying?” She said, “I don’t know. You look so sad.” God was comforting me through one of His daughters. That was my first encounter of God's love for me.

Recently, I stretched out my hand to shake the hand of a guest speaker. He looked straight into my eyes… I felt loved. God was speaking to me through one of His sons. This particular speaker told the congregation again and again, "God loves you.” I can see LOVE in this man of God.  LOVE flows from heaven above for ALL PEOPLE but it is up to us whether we want it.

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

I want to see You in every preacher of Your Word. Open my eyes. Sharpen my spirit. Father, I pray that You anoint the lips of all Your servants who stand at the pulpit to preach Christ. I pray that You anoint the lips of all 'evangelists' on the streets. May Your LOVE flow through us when we  go forth to touch lives. Your will shall be done. Amen!

Father, consecrate our hearts. We look to You.

Yes, we want to see Your face and live. You have a way to do it. We want to see You face to face. Only You can satisfy our desire to see You. Help us to recognise You. Open our eyes. Sharpen our spirits. Make us more like You. We are Your children. We resemble You. What is not from You, please cut it off. Prune us Lord! Make us beautiful! We will surely be perfectly beautiful when the Bridegroom arrives. Hallelujah! Amen!

Let us meditate on Jesus’ parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1-13) and be solemnly warned.
