After our first encounter with Jesus, a seed is deposited into our heart. The first place for anyone to start a new life with Jesus is to begin a genuine relationship with God.
Someone said - If we think we are going to heaven simply because we are good, have joined a church and actively serving, we should be very concerned. The scribes and Pharisees also did things like these, but they didn’t know God. (Matthew 23:13-33)
A relationship with God begins with repentance and faith in the cross of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only One who can bridge the gap and redeem sinful people back into a loving relationship with a perfect God.
Excerpt from “The Battle Plan for Prayer”
When Jesus said,
He wasn’t being prideful. He was being truthful. Being able to take the hand of God and the hand of man and bring them together, one would need to be heavenly and earthly, as well as, holy and human. And Jesus was.
Dear Father God,
You have opened the door for many to step into Your Kingdom but just one step is not enough. Father, I pray for all people who have said the sinner’s prayer. I pray that the seed that You have deposited into their hearts will start to germinate and grow. I pray for all Christians to be warned when they read Your Word:
These verses tell me that the demonstration of spiritual gifts and supernatural power is not evidence of a genuine relationship with You. Father God, You saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to Your mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom You poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Saviour, so that being justified by Your grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Jesus said that unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God (John 3:3). Salvation comes from the Lord. It is a spiritual transformation God brings about within our heart and life, as we repent and trust God alone by faith.
To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb, be praise and honour and glory and power, for ever and ever! Amen!
