How much do I think about God?
From where do I draw my ideas about what He is like? Is it from what people (e.g. pastors, preachers, invited speakers, fellow Christians …) say?
Is it from books? How do I choose which book to read?
Is it from the Bible? What have I done when I don’t understand what I read? Who do I ask? Do I desperately hunger to know Him more deeply and intimately?
I think different people use different methods to pursue God. My method may not work for another person. Another person’s way may not be my way. Ultimately, it has to be God Himself allowing us to enter into the deepest part of His heart, giving us understanding of His Word, His Way, His Character, His Desires, His Plan, His Purposes … Truly, He is the Giver of good and perfect gifts!
It is my greatest desire to know His heart and His will, and be empowered to walk in it. Amen!
Today, I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, that the Body of Christ knows His heart and will, and is empowered to walk in the purposes of God the Father. Amen!
Excerpt of my BSF notes: If you see HIM as HE is, you will not make demands or excuses. You will fall face down in humble, reverent submission and worship.
Worship is declaring our allegiance and loyalty, our deep affection and commitment to God, acknowledging His worth.
Dear Father God
When Isaiah saw You seated on Your throne, high and exalted, and the train of Your robe filled the temple, he cried, “Woe to me! I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.”
Father, I have not seen You seated on Your throne yet, but I have read about how awesome it is. I can only imagine (and sing about) the splendor of Your majestic presence...
The Bible tells us that seraphs fly and call to each other:
Father God, I pray that we can always come into the splendor of Your presence when we worship You in the sanctuary. Every activity must cease! O LORD, I long for the day when we, as One Body in Christ, stands on holy ground before You who are seated on Your throne in heaven, worshipping You, adoring You, praising You … declaring our allegiance and loyalty, our deep affection and commitment to You, laying down our crowns before Your throne and acknowledging Your worth:
You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being.
You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because You were slain, and with Your blood You purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.
Yes! Worthy! Worthy! Worthy!
Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise! Amen!
To Him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever! Amen!
