God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule …” So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
I often ponder over the words - ‘image of God’ – surely, it’s not a physical image. I know that one day, our bodies will be glorified. So, is it mental? But God had said that our thoughts are not His thoughts. So then, it must be emotional and I remember Jesus wept.
Yes, God has emotions too. But He is slow to anger, abounding in love … Do we know what is in His heart - what makes Him angry ... happy or sad?
The Bible tells us - not to blaspheme the Holy Spirit; not to grieve the Holy Spirit;
O LORD, give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we may know You better, so that we do not blaspheme or grieve Your Holy Spirit, amen.
Did man’s spirit die on the day he ate the forbidden fruit?
My Bible says – And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will SURELY DIE.”
Jesus told Nicodemus,
(You = we)
Yes, we must be born again - born of the Spirit, to worship God in spirit and in truth.
John said that the WORD became flesh, the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Jesus Himself said, “I am the way and the truth and the life.”
The Bible tells us that the WORD of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword.
My Bible teacher once said, “Turn your intellectual knowledge of God’s word into the sword of the Spirit i.e. take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.”
Father, we thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit – the Spirit of truth – who teaches us all things and reminds us of everything You have said to us. Thank You that the Spirit helps us in our weakness. He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with Your will. We know that in all things You work for the good of those who love You, who have been called according to Your purpose, amen.
Father, once again we want to thank You and worship You with all our heart and mind and soul. We give You all the glory and honour and praise! We love You and we want to follow Your leading, listen to Your voice and live our lives worthy of Your calling, amen!
We shall be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is Your will for us in Christ Jesus, amen!
