Quiet Time with Jesus – Free Will

Monday 17 October 2016

Francis Frangipane: Our spiritual vision is not an imaginary device of the mind but that which comes from the living union of the Holy Spirit with our hearts.

David said,

Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart
— Psalm 37:4

Surely, it delights Him to give us what we desire when our desires are in line with His will.

We can do nothing without Christ. Indeed, we can achieve success in God’s eyes only if we abide in Christ and His word. We are commissioned to go and make disciples … teaching them to obey everything He has commanded us. He promised to be with us always to the very end of the age. He will not leave us nor forsake us. He is faithful. We will reap what we sow and the fruit of our labour will reveal the condition of our heart.

As we journey with Jesus, He teaches us, trains and tests us through trials in our life. He enables us to ‘see’ and to ‘hear’. Our maturity in Christ depends on whether we hear and heed His warning from time to time. The closer we draw near to Him, the clearer will be our vision. Thanks be to God!

In Christ, we can win all battles because God always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him (2 Corinthians 2:14).

My Prayer

Dear Father God

We pray for MORE of You in everything we do. We know that in all things You work for the good of those who love You, who have been called according to Your purpose. If You are for us, who can be against us? Indeed, we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us.

We pray for Your presence to be with us - leading, guiding and making our paths straight. Sacrifice and offering You do not desire; My ears You have opened. Burnt offering and sin offering You do not require. I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart (Psalm 40:8).

Jesus said to His disciples,

My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work
— John 4:34

Father God, You are pure and holy! Give us a pure heart – that we may see You; Give us a humble heart – that we may hear You; Give us a heart of love – that we may do Your will; Give us a heart of faith – that we may abide in You!

Father, I desire to watch my ways and keep my tongue from sin; I desire to share the Gospel clearly and powerfully.

Father God, hear my prayer! You are near to all who call on You, to all who call on You in truth.

Amen!
