Quiet Time with Jesus – Hope

Wednesday, 16 September 2015

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when He appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
— 1 John 3:2

Christian hope is the assurance that however much we enjoy God’s presence and blessings here on earth, we will experience something far, far greater in heaven.

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.
— 1 Corinthians 2:9

Faith and love come from hope and trust in God. Faith, love and hope are three main emphases of Christianity.

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

In Your great mercy, You have given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus into an inheritance that can never perish.

Hope comes from seeing Your perspective.

You are sovereign. You are always in control.

Let us behold the sure and certain hope of eternal bliss in heaven.

Let faith and love spring out of that hope.

Let us be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer.

Fill us with all joy and peace so that we may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let us look ahead with hope toward that complete change of body and personality that lies beyond this life, when we will be like Christ.

Praise the LORD!

Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. Let the name of the LORD be praised, both now and forevermore. From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the LORD is to be praised. Amen!
— Psalm 113:1-3

Lam Yee Ling

Father, not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
