Quiet Time with Jesus – Obedience

Saturday, 12 December 2015

Moses was forbidden to cross the Jordan. Many people felt that God was not fair to Moses after all that he had donein obedience to God’s commands except one time.

Reflecting on the relationship we have with one another … “After all that I have done for you …” This thought is a ‘killer’ – It kills relationships! It leads a person down the road of resentment.

Recollection of the things that ‘I have done’ will grow; Recollection of the things that the other party had failed to do will also grow; This unhealthy growth is like cancer.

The thief comes to steal and kill and destroy. This kind of ‘cancerous’ growth takes away the joy of a relationship; It kills the heart to love another; It destroys relationships  between parents and children, siblings, friends, colleagues … anyone, anywhere. That is the devil’s evil scheme.

The Bible tells us that Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. (Deuteronomy 34:9)

Moses obeyed God.

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

Thank You for today’s lesson on OBEDIENCE.

We commit all our relationships to You. Have Your way with us. Teach us what to do. Amen.

Your Word gives us direction. Your love holds us close. Your Spirit enlightens our eyes. Amen.

And this is my prayer: that our love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that we may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ.
— Philippians 1:9-11

 We give You praise!
Amen!

Glory be to God!

To Whom It May Concern

May the LORD direct our hearts into GOD’s LOVE and CHRIST’s perseverance (2 Thessalonians 3:5) Amen.

Not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
