Quiet Time with Jesus – Sun and Son

Monday, 5 October 2015

There are man-made sunflowers everywhere ... but, where is the sun?

There are pots of plants on the stairs ... but only a few flowers because there wasn’t enough sunlight during the week. The flowers didn’t bloom.

My humble thoughts

The paper sunflowers are man-made. We made hundreds ...

Sunflowers can be grown but they will bloom only when there is enough sunlight.

Paper flowers will be thrown away, real flowers will wither and die ... but, the word of God will never pass away.

Jesus said,

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit – fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. This is my command: Love each other.
— John 15:16-17

The song “Seek Him” is a beautiful song to meditate on - “Seek me and you will find me, my child” - Hear the Call; Hear the Promise;

It is time to get personal with God. He is a personal God.

May every child seek Him passionately, prayerfully and purposefully.

You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
— Jeremiah 29:13

Paul said, “Imitate me as I imitate Christ” – let us NOT just imitate Paul and forget Christ.

By the grace of God, Saul became Paul, the Apostle. He was chosen by God to take the Gospel to the Gentiles - we are the Gentiles! Thanks be to God!

When we behold the sunflower and its beauty, let us NOT forget the glorious sun.

We are followers of Christ – we shall seek Him, behold His glory and follow Him.

When Peter saw Moses and Elijah, he wanted to worship them! But God said, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.” (Luke 9:35)

My Prayer: He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. Amen.

Father, not my will but Yours be done. Amen.
