What has God called you to do? Have you started work yet? Are you mid-way to completion? Are you finishing the work that the Lord has assigned to you?
During my journey with Jesus, I observed that He chose the uneducated, taught the weak and made them strong, loved the hungry and fed them, touched the sick and healed them …
The ‘weak’ includes His disciples who had peculiar personalities e.g. Peter, John, Thomas …
God has a plan for each and every one of us. He does not put us in a box. We have free will. We can choose whether to walk in our own will or in His will. He has given us a guide book. He has given us a Guide 24/7. How great is our God!
When I studied the life of Moses, David, Joseph, Paul … I realized that I would have questions IF I were there with them.
Why did God allow Moses to be brought up as a prince in Egypt?
God’s plan was to deliver His people out of Egypt and He did. He did not take a long time but the Israelites did. Moses himself could not enter the Promised Land because he dishonoured God but God’s love is so great that He allowed Moses to look at the Promised Land before he died.
What was David doing when he was just looking after his father’s sheep? Why did God allow him to commit adultery and murder?
David killed Goliath without 'really' fighting. David became king and from his family line came the Messiah, Jesus Christ our Lord. God did not allow David’s blood-stained hands to build His Holy Temple …
Why did God allow the ‘bad’ brothers to sell Joseph? Joseph even went to jail and had to wait for many years before he was released …
What about Paul? Why did God allow him to persecute the church and kill so many Christians?
God chose Paul to preach Christ. That was the assignment God gave to Paul. Paul said,
Today, I can ask God and He will answer me - by revelation through the Holy Spirit - as I study His Word.
God is sovereign. His plan cannot be thwarted. Satan can try seemingly endlessly BUT in the end, God will win. In fact, the war has already been won through Jesus Christ our Lord.
As for now, I shall declare, “Now fear the LORD and serve Him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshipped … and serve the LORD. But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served … But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.”(Joshua 24:14-15)
In my case, the completion is yet to come but it WILL come to pass! Amen!
Therefore, life is simple - simply serve God.
The end is yet to come but it will come, according to God’s timing. We will never understand everything that is happening on earth. When we encounter difficulties, obstacles, persecution … God is preparing us for GREATER WORKS. Hallelujah! His will is being done on earth as it is in heaven. We are part of His GREAT PLAN. God’s heart is to save the world from eternal destruction.
Dear Father God
Anoint our lips. Send us to the poor, hungry, weak and sick. When You speak through us, comfort will flow to the mourning, hurting, suffering … Send us to the discouraged, the dull and dry. When You speak through us, power will flow to the captives and they will be set free.
Use us to light up the world. We want to set people on fire for You!
Pour out Your Holy Spirit on all people! (Acts 2:17)
May all people see and hear the Good News!
As we freely receive we shall freely give - as long as we live.
Send us to all who are in need … Truly, all people are in need!
It is not the end yet. Thank You LORD!
