CHANGE COMES BY BELIEVING IN THE AUTHORITY OF JESUS
30 June 2020
“Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.” And his servant was healed at that moment”
— Matthew 8:13
A centurion is a commander with authority over hundreds of soldiers in the Roman army. Despite his position, he demonstrated 3 characteristics that we should learn from:
1) LOVE: Instead of leaving his lowly easily replaceable servant to die, he loved him as such to ask Jesus for healing upon his servant.
2) HUMILITY: Though he is a mighty respected leader in his earthly position, he is humble and submits to our Lord Jesus as the ultimate authority.
3) FAITH: The centurion believed in Jesus's power and said, "But say the word, and my servant will be healed". And his faith was affirmed when Jesus healed his servant.
Just like the centurion, we can experience breakthroughs in our life by developing this 3 traits of love, humility and faith through a deepen relationship with our Lord Jesus. Through Jesus, we have direct access to God and can ask with boldness and confidence what we want according to his will. Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, We thank you for loving us even before we knew you. Lord, please increase our faith so that we learn to trust in you and come to you for help and lean on you. In Jesus name we pray!! Amen!
Reflection:
1) Have we ever considered the importance and effect of Jesus's death/revival and how it can impact our lives?
2) Let's consider as to what can be our hurdles blocking our faith and how we can overcome them?

LIVING IN THE PROMISES OF GOD
26 June 2020
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
— Numbers 6:24-26
There are many times we learn in scripture of God loving to bless His people. While blessings can be financial, God’s blessings carry far more spiritual significance and are filled with his favour, power, wisdom and peace. Today, we can be assured of Gods blessings because of our righteous standing before God through the work of Jesus
We can trust that as we seek him and trust in his will for us, his grace and peace will be multiplied to us by:
· Opening doors that leave us surprised at how they open and closing doors that are not good for us.
· Having a plan for us in every good and hard thing we face.
· Giving us wisdom to guide us in our every decision in life.
· Helping us to overcome the sins (greed, pride, anger) we have.
Let’s receive and believe by faith Gods promise of blessing for us! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for loving us. Lord, as we go about day to day with our responsibilities, please teach us to always lean on you and ask for guidance from you so that we will walk in your ways. In Jesus name we pray! Amen!
Reflection:
1) Have you asked for a breakthrough from God and it did not happen the way you want it?
2) What are steps we can take to develop a personal relationship with God.

LOOKING TO GOD FOR REST IN THE MIDST OF OUR STRUGGLES
25 June 2020
“If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.
— Daniel 3:17
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego allegiance to God is so strong that even if not saved in the fire, they will continue to praise and look to God. Are things heating up in your life ? It could be battles with our children, marriage, work or health.
Even busyness and exhaustion at work is considered a fire. We may feel like peace is an unobtainable goal, blocked by layer upon layer of work we need to get through first. But let's remember God’s plan is different than the world’s plan.
Jesus never said that life is going to be a bed of roses. But he promises to exchange our burdens with his rest If we but "ALIGN" with and "LEARN" from him. Are you ready to go through life with Jesus taking your burdens, fears, and stress today? Praise the Lord!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, We thank you for sending your son Jesus who is perfect to be sin for us so that we now have access to your grace. Lord, please increase our faith so that we continuously our trust in you no matter our external circumstance or situation! In Jesus name we pray! Amen!
Reflection:
1) In what areas do you need God’s peace today?
2) Have you tried offering that area of your life to God, looking for verses related to that topic and asking him to reveal his teaching to you?

ARE WE GUIDING OR IS GOD GUIDING
23 June 2020
“He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way
— Psalm 25:9
Children of God, lets not be mistaken to think that being humble means we are weak. When we are humble, we are free from pride and arrogance. We know that in our flesh we are inadequate, yet we also know who we are in Christ.
Only when we are humble will our:
· HEARTS be renewed by the holy spirit when we are open to gods word.
· MINDS be open to the guidance of our heavenly Father in all areas of our life (work, family and health).
· SOULS feel at peace as our God has promised us that he will go before us, because he knows the way.
Then, we will truly experience a sense of happiness and all will be well with our soul.
Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly father, we thank you for loving us. Lord please impart to us a spirit of humility so that we learn to always ask wisdom from you in all areas of our life before we dive in with our own minds. In Jesus name we pray! Amen!
Reflection:
1) Have we made statements that show pride in our hearts?
2) Lets reflect on what humble serving (our family, church and community) looks like in our lives.

TURN TO GOD AS WE APPROACH THE END TIMES
20 June 2020
“And because LAWLESSNESS will be INCREASED, the LOVE of many will grow COLD.
— Matthew 24:!2
Can we imagine a world without the Holy Spirit? Love is the first fruit of the Spirit and without love, it's impossible for the other 8 fruits to take root. Looking at the increasing news of racism and human/animal abuse, its evident that the capacity for love and compassion is diminishing in our human race. Especially in the US, the law was meant to protect but now it has become the transgressor.
The bible teaches in this verse that there are people doing evil acts and people around them.
These people around them place their faith in the love of humanity. However, with each increasing day of disappointment, their kindness and love turns cold as the love of humans is self-centered and selfish. We, who put our faith in God's stable and unchanging love will intensify in love and shine like lights in this dark world bringing HONOR TO and GLORIFYING God while we endure and await our Savior! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for loving us and giving us a helper in the form of the holy spirit within us. Even as the world seems to be increasingly filled with hate and void of love, please fill us with the love of the spirit so that we rely on your love instead of the worlds love which is failing!! In Jesus name we pray! Amen!
Reflection:
1) Are our everyday actions, thoughts and speech helmed by love or selfishness?
2) Do you believe in the second coming of Jesus and that we have an eternal home?

WINNING OVER WORRY
19 June 2020
“And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
— Matthew 6:27
As fallen humans with inherent weakness, we worry a lot and sometimes too much. Its easy to be overwhelmed by fear and anxiety on a daily basis especially when we see what's happening in the world today with sickness, economy and violence. Essentially, being anxious is about thinking we can control a situation by worrying about it when we are actually not in control at all.
This need for control is unproductive for us as it can be harmful to not just our relationships with family but with God. This is exactly what the devil wants for us to worry, get stressed and lean on ourselves instead of leaning on God. However, Gods grace is big enough to meet us whichever phase of life we are at and he is ready to supply all our needs as he knows us better than we do ourselves. Will you trust God today?
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for loving us. Lord as we go through life with burdens and stresses please teach us to come to you for help instead and to trust in you to provide what we need!! In Jesus name we pray! Amen!
Reflection:
1) Has pride been an issue hence the inability to completely submit to God and trust in him?
2) Let's reflect on a time when being highly stressed has caused a drift in our relationships?

ACTIVE ENGAGEMENT WITH GOD FOR OUR SUCCESS
18 June 2020
“For by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory
— Proverbs 24:6
We have decisions to make everyday whether it’s about our career, marriage, finances, health, or children. However, we may tend to make these decisions alone based on our human knowledge and intellect which can be fallible.
The bible says in Jeremiah for us to call to God and he will answer us by telling us great and hidden things that we do not know.
Lets engage God actively by:
· Praying for guidance first before we do anything else and ask God for wisdom and direction. as well as
· Develop a network of friends so that we can learn from the experiences of others, successes as well as failures.
Let's ask for our RESOURCE from the SOURCE our loving God! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for loving us. Lord, we have many decisions to make from kids to work to spouse, etc. Please teach and guide us so that we make wise decisions and that you our God be glorified in our lives! In Jesus name we pray! Amen!
Reflection:
1) Was there a time when we could have made a better decision achieving better results by being more well informed?
2) When provided advice, are we open to it or is our pride blocking us from hearing?

TRUE SUCCESS BY BEING TEACHABLE
17 June 2020
“But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
— James 4:6
Being wise means knowing that humility and teachability go together. We open ourselves up to stumbling once complacency sets in. Pride causes us to think we know better or are doing better but there will always be someone smarter, more experienced, successful, etc.
It also causes us most importantly to stop learning even when we hear Gods word and PRIDE blocks us from receiving the GRACE of God. Only by Gods Grace will we be wiser in building relationships, managing money, handling conflict and dealing with other challenges in life.
Humility teaches us to remain teachable lifelong learners. When we walk with God in humility, he helps us walk in wisdom. Praise the Lord!
Prayer
Dear God our Heavenly Father, we thank you for loving us. Lord, even as the world tempts us into breeding pride please give us your grace and discernment so that we do not fall into the snares of the devil. We thank you in Jesus name! Amen!
Reflection:
1) Lets reflect on a time when we got challenged either at work or at home and how was it like?
2) Did we look at ourselves first to see if we may be at fault or do we immediately get angry at the other person?

IS GREED OUR MOTIVE?
16 June 2020
“Do not toil to acquire wealth; be discerning enough to desist.
— Proverbs 23:4
Ever since the days of Adam and Eve, we are called to work diligently to provide for our family. Diligence in work can give financial success which is not wrong. The issue comes when GREED becomes our MOTIVE.
Greed can set in:
1) Right at the beginning of our career when we make money a focus.
2) During our career when we get influenced by others to make money a focus.
Solomon teaches that we can weed (desist) out greed by placing God in the centre of it all and to acknowledge him before every plan in the middle of execution till the end. We can then trust that God will give us wisdom so that we will not be directed towards a path of greed, because greed is contrary to God’s loving and generous nature. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for having heard us and for always hearing us. Lord, please help us to seek you the creator of all creations so that in you we maybe provided the riches of your glory according to your will. In Jesus name! Amen!
Reflection:
1) How do we feel when we see peers doing better financially or having better possessions then us?
2) Lets be honest about our definition of success and whether there is any greed in it?

FRIEND OR FOE
15 June 2020
“Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.
— 1 Corinthians 15:33
In my sec 2 days, I hung out with friends who are diligent at school work yet knew to have fun. Somehow, I got close to a classmate, joined a gang known as "369" and started learning bad habits. Looking back, I believed God protected me as I quit the gang unharmed.
Yes, God wants us to love and be kind to everyone. But it is critical to be careful with who we form relationships with because bad influence and peer pressure causes us to lose Godly wisdom in decision making making us waver in faith and fall into sin.
Good friends will:
· Move us in the right direction of good moral judgement.
· Improve our relationship with Christ.
· Serves as a reminder to pull us back from the distractions of the world.
Lets stay on guard against the influence of bad company not just for us but our kids too! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for sending your son Jesus to save us so that now we are given the free gift of your grace. JESUS OUR PRINCE OF PEACE
13 June 2020
“In PEACE I will lie down and sleep, for YOU ALONE, LORD, make me dwell in SAFETY.
— Psalm 4:8
After a long day with family and work we think our body wants to fall asleep fast. Instead, our mind races with thoughts of that day and about tomorrow. I have been there rolling over and over in bed, replaying a work or family issue plus struggling with fear about the future.
There is nothing worse than trying to fall asleep anxious and trying to tire ourselves playing video games, watching news or Facebook. It results in disrupted sleep and i wake up even more tired. This verse reminds me that God is with me and gives me a peace that relaxes my mind, body and soul.
We can cast our burdens on him and rest, knowing he will:
· Sustain us
· Assist us
· Support us.
Today, the Lord’s gift of peace is wide open to us if we but only trust in him. God never promised that life is without struggles, but he promised to sustain us through them.

PRACTICING GOOD STEWARDSHIP OF WHAT WE HAVE
12 June 2020
“But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master’s money.
— Matthew 25:18
Are we as ambassadors of Christ optimising our talents and gifts to glorify God so that others may come to know him? Talents and gifts applies to not just money but also knowledge, time, kindness and compassion. In our day and age, it is tempting to be selfish and think that we have not received as much or do not have enough time as someone else.
Seeing ourselves as OWNERS of what we have makes us hoarders and not willing to share. Seeing ourselves as STEWARDS of what we have makes us givers and happy to share and not just receive. We are responsible for what we do for God with what we have been given, and one day we will be held responsible when Lord Jesus comes back.
Being faithful with what we are entrusted with, big or small, God then gives us more capacity to do great things that honour our Lord! Praise the Lord!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for all that we have and for giving us individually different gifts by your grace. Lord, please empower us and teach is how we may live lives glorifying you by utilising our gifts to spread your name and love for all of us. In Jesus name we pray! Amen!
Reflection:
1) Do you see yourselves as stewards or owners of all that you have?
2) How can we start using our gifts or talents, time to help others?
THE KEY TO CONSTANT FRUIT BEARING IN OUR LIVES
11 June 2020
“Do not QUENCH the SPIRIT. — 1 Thessalonians 5:19
Some believers feel that we need to ask the Holy Spirit to fill us up but the Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit lives within us the moment we believe in Christ for the forgiveness of our sins. The Holy Spirit then CONTINUOUSLY becomes our source of revelation, wisdom, power and help.
Having said that, we can QUENCH (to extinguish or put out) the works of the Spirit in our life by not submitting to its desire to guide us. Instead of letting the Holy Spirit control us, we try to control ourselves hindering the effectiveness of him through us.
We quench the Holy Spirit by succumbing to the flesh with:
· outburst of anger
· jealousy
· envying
· idolatry
· Accumulative Bitterness
Let's prayerfully ask the Holy Spirit to guide and lead us so that our fruits blossom and flourish making exciting changes in our lives! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for sending us a helper the Holy Spirit to live in us, to teach us and guide us your ways. Lord we ask that you increase our faith so that we learn to rely on him and let him guide us instead of relying on our own understanding or intellect. In our Lord Jesus name we pray! Amen!
Reflection:
1) Let's reflect on a time we went out of control instead of exercising self control in a particular situation (losing our temper, speaking harshly, thinking bad of someone), etc.
2) Have we truly received Jesus as our Lord and Savior and am faithful to his teachings?

ACHIEVING THE PERFECT BALANCE
10 June 2020
“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain — Psalm 127:1
“I work hard to give my family a better life, ironically I am losing them gradually due to my busy schedule" was what a highly successful friend told me recently.
Our life revolves around building something all the time:
· Career
· Childrens education/character
· Relationship with our love ones
All three aspects are important for a quality life. But they compete intensively with each other for our attention/energy and leads to the detriment of the other when we focus too much on one.
Our daddy God knows that we need all these things and he calls us to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and he will give us what we need. When our security intertwines with earthly possessions, we are trusting in material things and not God.
We are:
· Vulnerable when striving for security in our own strength.
· Secured and balanced when we are in Gods strength.
Praise the Lord!
Prayer
Dear God our loving father, we thank you for your gift of Jesus so that we are made righteous before you through him. Lord, as we go through the struggles and works of life please teach us to lean on you and not on ourselves so that we learn to strive for a balance between all 3 essentials of life. We thank you for hearing us. In Jesus name we pray! Amen!
Reflection:
1) Identify an area of your life that has been the most exhausting and if it has affected any of your relationships with family.

PRACTICAL LIVING COMES FROM SEEKING GODLY WISDOM
9 June 2020
“A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.
— Proverbs 22:3
Shrewdness is having clear understanding and good judgment in a situation. Godly Wisdom makes us operate with good morals being pure, kind and loving. Jesus said it for us to be as SHREWD as snakes and as INNOCENT as doves.
Having these 2 complimentary traits, we can have/be:
· Foresight avoiding potential trouble by making current wise choices.
· Dynamic to be creative and change course thriving in any situation.
· Impartial thinking of pros and cons before a decision.
These strengths will teach us to be strategic in all aspects of our lives from work to family to health and investments. Godly wisdom will also make us look term with our walk in Christ for our Lord will come back anytime to bring us back to our eternal home.
Let's not think short term by just looking at our current temporal home! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our loving Father, We thank you for always hearing us and for saving us. Lord, we ask that you always guide us with your wisdom and understanding so that we know what to do and how to move forward in every situation. May your grace be upon us always! In Jesus name we pray! Amen!

LIVING A GOD CHARGED LIFE
8 June 2020
“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
— Philippians 4:13
Paul was in prison writing this and looked to God for provision of his soul and contentment in distress and need, In today's world, many of us are entrapped in the prison of exhaustion and demand. We have heard of people saying there are not enough hours in a day and are so tired being busy everyday.
The biggest reason why we are tired is because we are trying to go through our day by our limited energy. We are not plugged in to Gods power and living on our power alone. When life is good it's all cool, but it's when things are tough or strained (health or financial, stress or relationship problems) that Gods power truly manifests because he gives us what we actually need:
· strength to survive our moments of weakness.
· and a sense of freedom even in life’s prisons.
Believing in our standing before God through the work of Jesus, we tap on God’s strength for daily sustenance! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for having heard us and for always hearing us.
Lord we ask for your grace and favor to be upon us so that we will be renewed and refreshed as we go about our daily timetables. Lord please impart a spirit of contentment no matter what situation we may be facing today!! We thank you for loving us In Jesus name we pray!

PROTECTION COMES BY ASKING GOD TO BE OUR REFUGE AND STRENGTH
6 June 2020
“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. — 2 Thessalonians 3:3
Our world is full of lawlessness and wickedness. News around the world serves to confirm the increasing lack of compassion and self control. While we cannot trust in the protection of humans, we can trust in the protection of God whose faithfulness gives us stability knowing that he is true to his word.
The Bible repeatedly reminds us that we are in a constant spiritual and physical war with Satan:
1) Spiritual (Internal)
By GRACE through FAITH in the WORK of CHRIST, the holy spirit in us will increasingly sanctify (make us holy and bear the fruit of the spirit) us throughout our lives. It also gives us godly wisdom guarding us from the distraction and traps of the world.
2) Physical (External)
Having God’s protection does not mean that struggles and distress won’t occur. But we can rest knowing God’s protection is covering us and our families just like how God protected Daniel in the lions den and Shadrach/Meshach/Abednego in the fiery furnace!
Let's walk everyday of our lives confident knowing that God is for us and not against us!
Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for being our solid rock always dependable and constant. Lord even as the devil tries to distract us with worldly and physical problems, please help us to seek refuge in you as our source of safety and protection. In Jesus name we pray! Amen!

UNLOCKING LIFE BY WALKING IN THE SPIRIT
5 June 2020
“Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.
— 1 Corinthians 2:12
Jesus was teaching Nicodemus in a separate verse that one needs to be spiritually reborn (transformation of heart and mind) so as to understand the things of God and be truly saved. This teaches that true understanding and application of the bible in our lives has to be done in the Spirit no matter how smart or theologically sound we think we are.
Reading the Bible naturally may make a lot of verses boring or irrelevant as we cannot see their meaning and eventually stop reading as we find it a waste of time. Reading the Bible in the Spirit enables us to understand Gods word in their true value impacting us and our daily lives.
Lets be encouraged to pray and ask God for understanding and it will be provided!
Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly father, we thank you for your living word that's free for us today. Lord, please guide us and teach us your ways. Give us wisdom and discernment. In Jesus name we pray! Amen!
Reflection
1) Have we been rushing through our day without first asking God for guidance and wisdom?
2) Before hearing or reading Gods word, have we prayed for understanding first?

SUPERFICIALITY TEMPTS US INTO IDOLATRY
4 June 2020
“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions
— 2 Timothy 4:3
As believers, we are called to not conform to the ways of the world and do things differently learning from the word of God. However the devil is smart and uses subtle ways even through scripture to distract us making the pull of the world hard to resist. Idolatry is extreme pursuit of anything other then God.
It could be our strong focus on kids education to career growth, possessions or dependence on opinions of successful/powerful people. Many times, this popular decisions from a Godly perspective, are bad yet people say they are good. Following them only causes us to drift from God instead.
Truth is, only Christ's guidance offers us more hope then following anyone else. Today, lets choose to set ourselves apart from the crowd to follow Jesus asking him for wisdom and discernment to guide us!! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear Almighty God, we thank you for your grace poured out upon us. Lord, the world is always tempting to distract us to look to other things apart from you for satisfaction. SUPERFICIALITY BREEDS HYPOCRISY AND DESTROYS RELATIONSHIPS
3 June 2020
“His speech was smooth as butter, yet war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.
— Psalm 55:21
Today is a time where everything must sound good and optimistic focusing on only the positive and casting out or looking down on weakness. Have we ever walked away from a conversation where every response to a situation is fine and dandy making you feel judged or weak if you were to say otherwise?
I believe this is a warning to us about hypocritical people and being hypocrites ourselves. The smoothest talker may be filled with hatred and the kindest person may be the first to stab you in the back or gossip about you.
Hypocrisy, pride and arrogance can fill our hearts when we put our confidence in ourselves and accomplishments. Let's fill ourselves with the goodness and grace of God by putting our confidence in God instead. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for having heard us and for always hearing us. DANGERS OF SUPERFICIALITY IN OUR LIFE
2 June 2020
“We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise.
— 2 Corinthians 10:12
Superficiality, the tendency to judge by outer appearance is a trait that affects our quality of life in every aspect. In fact, the first falls of Satan and Eve stemmed from discontentment with what God gave them (which is pretty good). Today, human standards says that achieving certain benchmarks are required to be happy making comparison very dangerous.
We chase someone else’s benchmark while missing our own. If we truly believe that God created the world and everything in it, the standards of human will never match Gods standards. Let's look to God and ask for his plan to be unveiled instead as we are all different and cannot conclude whose life is better based on our superficial judgement. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly father, we thank you for always going before us and planning for us. Lord, please increase our trust in you so that we learn to not compare what we have with others and know that you have the best plans for us. In Jesus name we pray! Amen!

INNER PEACE IS THE TRUE MEASURE OF SUCCESS
1 June 2020
“But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace.
— Psalm 37:11
Satan wants us to think that being meek is quiet, submissive and gentle making it a weakness in the face of mankind. God teaches that meekness is humility and patience making us teachable and able to draw on his strength. Truth is, the struggles of the world bogs us down whereas the supply of God's GRACE frees us from the worlds demands and expectations.
Instead of being slaves to the world, we inherit the world by being happy as we are:
· Rarely provoked
· Cool when others are hot
· Living the carefree life by committing all that we are to God.
· Trust in his ability to provide for our needs.
Humbly believing in the teachings of Jesus and asking him to empower us to put it in practice, we are able to receive his gift of internal peace even in the midst of this external troubled world! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for your word today and for teaching us how Jesus is like despite being the son of God. Lord, as the world tries to pull us closer and deeper into being strong ourselves please guide us and teach us to rely on you instead for wisdom so that we can inherit the world!!
