LEADING THE TRULY SOULFUL LIFE
31 January 2020
“So as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God.
— 1 Peter 4:2
A true indicator of being saved starts with a reformed (changed and improved) heart. The OLD life is gone; a NEW life has begun!
1. Old Life: Driven by our desires and own efforts.
2. New Life: Driven to exercise Gods leadership in our lives and to trust in his will for us.
Exercising the Lords leadership in our lives has to be done:
· In full faith (not half half)
· In total submission to his power
When we trust internally (heart and mind) that his plans are always good, we experience a calm even when threading on rocky waters on the external (tough financials, strains in relationships and health).
Living for the will of God, we will not feel the need to compare with anyone and I say anyone (people who do better or worst then you) as we know where our confidence lies. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our loving Father, We thank you for saving us through the work of Jesus and in turn making us New Creations. Please give us strength to remain rooted in you so that your Lordship will guide us in our lives. Lord, keep us trusting in you and that your plans will work together for our good. We thank you for being our unchanging truth in the midst of this changing world!! In our Lord jesus name we pray this! Amen!

DRAWING STRENGTH IN DIFFICULTIES
30 January 2020
“For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.
— Psalm 84:11
Are we in the midst of a challenging situation today? God who is our sun (will nourish) and the shield (protects) will himself grow us and keep us safe when we do what's right.
Doing what's right is no easy feat especially when we are faced with temptations at every corner. However, when Jesus said, "it is finished!", he made a one time payment for our sins and God sees us as holy and blameless through Christ. The more we get led by the spirit through PRAYER and reading his WORD, the less power the flesh will have over us.
We will start to see favor and grace in our lives. Doors that leave us surprised at how they open will open. He will close doors that he knows are not the best for us. Truly depending on God, we receive the protection, security, and peace that he freely offers us. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our Heavenly Father, We thank you for making us righteous before you through the work of Jesus. Life in this human world is tough and exhausting, we face the temptation everyday of looking to worldly solutions to help us. Lord, instead help us to focus on you as our nourishment and shield to go through life!!! In Jesus mighty name we pray! Amen!

MAXIMISING OUR LIVES BY RELYING ON THE HOLY SPIRIT
29 January 2020
“And I will ask the Father, and he will GIVE you another HELPER, to be with YOU FOREVER
— John 14:16
Of all given to us by God, there is none greater than the THE HOLY SPIRIT. Once we become believers, he lives in us, becomes our HELPER forever and guides us in ways we cannot possibly achieve ourselves:
1. Revealing/Conviction of Truth - He enables us to understand God’s Word and apply to our lives the true meaning of christian living giving us discernment when we hear wrong teaching, behaviours and truth.
2. Spirit-led Activity - He begins the work of bearing fruit in our lives internally first renewing our character followed by an outward flow in all that we do.
Truth is, pride is causing our unbelief that's blocking us from experiencing breakthroughs (overcoming bad habits, new ideas in our work and a whole new level of relationship within our family) in our lives!
Let's reflect on whether we are living a powerless life relying on ourselves or a powerful life relying on the holy spirit. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear Father God, we thank you for giving us a helper through the holy spirit which is in us today! Lord, we ask for you to lower our pride and come humbly to you even as the world threatens to distract us from you and quench the holy spirits with work, material wants and trials. Please give us discernment and convictions so that we know the right thing to do always living a maximised life! In Jesus Mighty name we pray! Amen!

LEAVING A SUSTAINABLE LEGACY
23 January 2020
“I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your offspring after you.
— Genesis 17:6-7
Loving our children, we aim to leave behind a legacy for them by equipping them with education or leaving some form of inheritance. Its good to "Empower" our kids but there are many who end up dis-empowered becoming slaves to our ever demanding society.
There are two very real issues in Singapore today.
1. Mental health issues specific to academic stress are on the rise especially in the younger age groups.
2. Millennial generation the kids of today and the future are branded as entitled, spoilt and materialistic.
We as physical stewards have to be first new creations in order to train our kids up in the ways of our Lord so that they in turn will be guided by God leading fruitful lives. Abraham's formula was simple.
Obedience to Gods word = Believing in Gods promises = Fruitfulness in Our Lives and Our Generations Lives to come!
Truth is, focusing on more money and good academics does not guarantee happiness in life but only exhausts! It is only by staying in Gods sustainable grace that our lives and next generation lives will be truly abundant! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for being the creator of all things and for providing all that we have today richly for our enjoyment. Please gives us wisdom and guide us in using your resources (education and money) wisely. Lord, please also continue to fill us with the holy spirit so that we can be first renewed and then guide our kids in your ways as well so that we and our generations can be sustained by your loving grace!! We pray all these in Jesus mighty name! Amen!

HOW TO ENJOY GOD'S SUFFICIENCY
22 January 2020
“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed
— Proverbs 11:25
Generosity means being kind and unselfish and goes deeper than money, it also means giving our time, hospitality and friendship. However, it is important that when we give, we do it willingly and without expecting anything in return. If not, our motivation is already wrong.
Giving is also an individual matter that is settled in our own heart. We decide how much to give (be it money or time) and it is never determined by peer pressure. Simply put, when we give cheerfully and willingly, the promise is that God will provide all that we need to continue doing good.
God's abundance extends beyond the superficiality of material resources. Our reward will come from the Lord, in his way and in his time according to his will which will definitely be good for us. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear Abba Father, We thank you for loving us even before we knew you. Today's world is filled with exhaustion and frustration and in that breeds ungraciousness and self-centeredness. Please fill us with Patience and kindness so that we can continue being lights shining in this dark world generously giving and sharing so that all who interact with us will come to know about you! We pray all these in our Lord Jesus name! Amen!

ACHIEVING TRUE INNER PEACE
21 January 2020
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world
— John 16:33
More then ever, the world places priority on inner peace. Gurus will point to oneself (chakras, inner spirit through meditation, some crystals, etc) as the source of peace. This completely displaces the source our Lord Jesus Christ who is the prince of peace. Inner peace is a complete rest of mind/spirit and has little to do with external surroundings (trials and tribulations).
Peace is a fruit of the Holy Spirit within a believing heart and achieving it comes from
· Submitting to and trusting that God has control over all things in life and works all things for our good. (We are at peace with ourselves when we believe that a greater power other then ourselves is at work)
· Living at peace with others, as far as possible so our calmness and wisdom can bring peace to an otherwise tense situation.
Peace is not the ABSENCE of trouble; it is the PRESENCE of God.
Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for loving us and for providing a way out for us in the midst of this troubled world through the work of your son Jesus Christ. Today, we may be feeling bogged down with work, children or relationship troubles. Lord, we ask for your help to guide and lead us in our lives so that we can attain true peace in you!! We thank you father in Jesus mighty name we pray! Amen!

ASK GOD TO BLESS US IN THE MIDST OF OUR STORM
20 January 2020
“So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.
— Genesis 32:24-28
Our relationship with God was never meant to be one sided. Jacob was in a dark moment anticipating an attack by Esau and after having been physically disabled realised in his despair who he was fighting with decided to hang on to God and asked God to bless him in his uncertainty.
Today, we may be facing a fearful or dark situation and am still trying to solve it on our own. In our storm, we can come BOLDLY in faith before God just like Jacob acknowledging his power, focusing on looking to God and asking for his blessings as he will meet us right where we are in our pain, fear and uncertainty. Then, we can experience the true Joy and Peace of being incline with Gods plans for us! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear Father God, we thank you for hearing us and for always hearing us. Lord, please help us to continually focus on you despite what our external situations may look like and in that so that we may be blessed and draw from you strength, joy and peace to go through life! In our Lord Jesus name we pray! Amen!

GOD WILL MEET OUR NEEDS, NOT OUR GREEDS
18 January 2020
“And my God will supply every need of YOURS according to HIS riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
— Philippians 4:19
In this life, we will never cease worrying about providing for our needs. As parents, we want the best for our kids and will give all that's good for them. But, we also know that giving them all they want like a spoilt child results in detrimental effects for their mental, emotional and physical health.
If we as physical parents desire to do this for our kids, what more will our loving heavenly father want to do the same for us? God can certainly meet all our needs but there is a difference between what we want or need.
God will provide our physical needs, but developing our spiritual and emotional needs are also what will satisfy us long term especially in todays demanding world! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, We thank you for loving us and giving us all that we have. Please grant us a spirit of contentment and thankfulness so that we can in turn share your blessings be it financially, time or spreading your word to others. We pray all these in Jesus mighty name! Amen!

CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
17 January 2020
“A soft answer turns away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
— Proverbs 15:1
How are we dealing with our internal (family) and external (work and friends) conflicts today? There is a fine line between:
· Correction (Directed towards action)
· Judgement (Directed towards person)
We are not correcting in love if we are sarcastic, demeaning, calling people names or bearing a grudge against them for what they did. Especially, a Christ-centered home should be marked by grace and be a safe place to mess up (both kids and spouse).
There's enough hostility and judgment out there and our home should be a retreat where our family members find comfort and rest. Although, we need to understand that anger is a valid emotion just that it needs to be executed with the proper control and motivation to achieve the desired result.
The bible asks us to restore each other in the spirit of gentleness All by his GRACE!
Prayer
Dear God Our Loving Father, We thank you for your grace upon us. Please help us stay patient and constructive especially during times of conflict either with our family or at work. Give us words of encouragement and sensitivity so that our conversations will be used to build and not tear others down. In Jesus mighty name we pray! Amen!

HOW TO INCREASE OUR FAITH
16 January 2020
“So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
— Romans 10:17
The world is in a state of movement. Either we are growing or going backwards. We often think of ways to grow our kids education, career path or business revenue but seldom think about how we can grow our faith. Too often, we become a Sunday Christian motivated by the word after service only to keep his word in the backseat throughout the week and not applying it in our daily living.
Gods word is living, transforming and life changing. We can be encouraged by each others faith but nobody else can grow our faith unless we make the step ourselves. It may not came natural at the beginning but lets start by:
· Spending short moments with God throughout the day through prayer of request or thanksgiving.
· Devote gradual progressive steps to reading the bible consistently.
All by his GRACE!
Prayer
Dear Abba Father, We thank you for your living word which is available on so many platforms in todays modern world. Please help us not to be just Sunday Christians but also to be everyday Christians by progressively going into a deeper relationship with you through your word and prayer. We pray all this in Jesus mighty name! Amen!

GODLY CONFIDENCE THROUGH HUMILITY
15 January 2020
“God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth.
— Matthew 5:5
Many character traits define a person but I believe there are only 2 types of people the humble and the proud. The proud have their confidence rooted in themselves and their accomplishments and are typically close minded, arrogant, pushy and gossip about people. The humble (true believers) have our confidence rooted in God as we believe that he is all powerful and admit that our knowledge and strength are insufficient to cope with the pressures and obstacles of life.
As such, we submit all our relationships, work/business, health, fears onto God as we trust that his plans are always for us and not against us. Humility allows us to inherit the earth by making us:
· Teachable by having an open mind
· Adaptable to not give up especially in times of adversity.
· Patient and trusting in Gods timing for everything.
We then develop a steady calm, true contentment and joy in life! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our Loving Father, we thank you for being our source of everything. Lord, help me to get this balance right in my life. Help me to have a confidence that comes from trusting in you, to avoid fearing anyone and to walk humbly before you and not to fall into the temptation of pride! In Jesus mighty name we pray! Amen!

THE KEY TO FIGHTING PRIDE
14 January 2020
“Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.
— 2 Corinthians 10:17
If we try to impress people and appear holy before them, we seek the glory of men. That said, having our self-esteem stroked and receiving praise from people is incredibly attractive. To guard against that, its crucial to learn Gods word and remember that all provision (favor in our relationships with people, success in a work project) comes from God alone.
Therefore, lets give praise to our sovereign God who works all things to our good:
· When others praise us, lets feel genuinely humbled by God’s grace in our lives.
· Lets be honest about our struggles and sin, recognizing that we are in the sanctification process alongside every believer.
· Lets not feel the need to portray a certain status and certain amount of likes or friends to feel good about ourselves.
As soon as we stop fighting for our own glory and glorify God, we then can learn to rest in his promises and faithfulness! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear Father God, We thank you for making us righteous before you through the work of our Lord Jesus Christ allowing us to now approach you receiving your grace. Lord the world is tempting us into self glorification wanting us to think that everything we have is due to our effort and hard work. Please help us cast out pride by opening up our hearts to your living word so that we can be internally transformed! In our Lord Jesus name we pray! Amen!

EXITING THE HUMAN RAT RACE
13 January 2020
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life is not from the Father but is from the world.
— 1 John 2:15-16
Satan is the god of our corrupted fallen world and has his own value system opposite to God's summed up in three evils, lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, or the pride of life. The world today encourages us to keep striving, being envious and to compare ourselves with others stirring dissatisfaction in our own lives. Surrounding advertisements also prey on our natural tendency to love this world, and appeal in some way to the flesh.
Yes, whilst in this world, we do have worldly needs (financials, food and necessities, etc). God knows that very well. But he warns against being focused on our needs and being sucked into idolatry due to temptation. Instead God tells us his children to set our priorities according to His eternal value system. We are to seek first God’s kingdom and righteousness and all these things will be added unto us! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father our God, as we await your return Lord please grant us wisdom and strength for us to not ever lean on our own understanding but of yours as we are weak but you are almighty. In Jesus name we pray!
Amen!

DO WE FEAR DISAPPROVAL OF GOD OR THE DISAPPROVAL OF MEN?
11 January 2020
“So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.
— Matthew 10:32-33
A fulfilling life stems from receiving and sharing enriching experiences. Too often, we share the “gospel” of nice restaurants, nice movies or nice travel destintions freely to others but hold back on sharing the gift of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Sharing does not mean we speak bluntly or judgementally to those who have views different from ours. Instead, we are to share with sensitivity and kindness of our experience with God without fear of being disapproved by people who can be sarcastic or demeaning to the faith.
Today if there is an opportunity for us to speak out about Gods love, lets not be afraid to utilise it as a platform to share how God has changed our lives and hopefully they will come to know God the way we do. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear Father God, We thank you for loving us. Lord, as you work your grace into our lives every day please give us courage to proclaim our faith especially in the midst of disagreement and to stand firm in your truth!! In Jesus mighty name we pray!
Amen!

LET GODS WILL RULE OVER OUR WILL
10 January 2020
“Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.
— 1 Chronicles 4:10
Jabez knew that blessings will become curses if it is not God's hand providing and guiding. Therefore, he prayed for blessings but yet submit it to Gods will!! Have we been underestimating the power of God and UNDER-PRAYED?
Truth is, God created the earth by his power and preserves it by his wisdom. Lets be confident and ask boldly for God to bless us and enlarge our territory not just for work, ministry and relationship success but also for him to protect us from harm, greed, jealousy and temptations.
Praying SMALL undermines God power! Praying BIG acknowledges Gods sovereignty (supreme power and authority)! Praying for GOD'S WILL exercises his Lordship in our lives!
Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our Heavenly Father, We thank you for making us righteous before you through the work of Jesus Christ! Lord, give us a spirit not of FEAR but of BOLDNESS so that we stand confident in your power and trust in you knowing that your results for everything is the best for us! In Jesus mighty name we pray!

WHAT ARE OUR WORDS STIRRING UP
9 January 2020
“Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
— Colossians 4:6
Treating people how we would like to be treated is a line that I hear often when younger till today. As easy as it is to show grace when things are well, showing grace is hardest when:
· Our love ones in our house gets on our nerves.
· Thoughts and opinions are shared carelessly leaving us angry or even personally attacked.
· Someone cuts into our lane abruptly when driving
We make mistakes at different points of life and need grace for our own mistakes when it happens. Tone of voice and words used can make the difference between a destructive or constructive conversation. Lets think about whether the words coming out of our mouth stirs up:
· Hatred or Love
· Bitterness or Thankfulness
· Complain or Compliments
May God's GRACE enable us to use our words as an instrument of his love in our relationships with our children, spouse or people! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for your grace and mercy for loving us even before we even knew you and nailed Jesus to the cross. Please help us Lord to spread the kindness and grace to people around us just as Jesus did to people who are against him. May we GLORIFY your name by being a light amongst the darkness today. In Jesus mighty name we pray!
Amen!

LIVING AS A NEW CREATION
8 January 2020
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
— Romans 12:2
Mahatma Gandhi once said, "your thoughts control your action". Our thoughts are based on what motivates us. Today's world thrives on being market driven, success driven and self-centered driven. Essentially, we become driven by the standards of people instead of the standard of God which only weighs and bogs us down.
Hence, it is crucial for us believers to be equipped with discernment by continually bathing in Gods word. When we humbly open our heart to God’s word and lean on him, it:
· Renews our minds by freeing us from the bondage of life.
· Changes us from inside out.
· Guides us on taking the next right step for us, work and family.
Importantly, It opens our eyes to the beauty of Gods will and plan for us which will only be good, pleasing and perfect! Praise the Lord!
Prayer
Dear Abba Father, we thank you for your word today. Indeed, the world is highly evolving/demanding and we can easily fall into the traps of life should we not be armed with your wisdom. Therefore Lord, we seek your understanding so that our minds are renewed and we be given discernment to do what's best for us and our families! We pray all this in Jesus mighty name!
Amen!

OVERCOMING THE PRESSURES OF LIFE
7 January 2020
“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
— 2 Timothy 1:7
Being FEARFUL of the unknown future is a big part of our reality today:
· it can protect us from potential danger
· it can also hinder our potential when we are unconfident.
This nature of fear makes it the greatest weapon Satan uses against us, as it attacks our minds. Fearing the future, we tend to build our confidence in tangible things like our status, career and skills. What Satan does not want to point to you is that God is the creator of all these things and he can give us our perfect mix according to his will.
Trusting and believing by faith in Gods GRACE, we receive:
· Wisdom to achieve and overcome in all life situations.
· Love to remain secure and unshaken.
· Peace and contentment in the midst of our tired world.
Let's start learning about God through his living word and lead a transformed life! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear Father God, We thank you for always being there for us. Todays world revolves around building our confidence on visible tangible things that cater to our needs. Whilst provision is important, Lord we ask that you help us build our confidence in you instead as you are the creator of all these creations. Please guide us as we lean deeper and deeper on your wisdom. In Jesus mighty name we pray!
Amen!

THE KEY TO LIVING PEACEFULLY
6 January 2020
“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
— Ephesians 4:32
Forgiving is not easy as it requires us to show empathy to one whom we think does not deserve it. However, being unforgiving builds up bitterness and anger within us robbing us of the FULL life God wants us to have. To some, forgiveness may seem like weakness or letting an undeserving person win, but it has no connection to weakness or even to emotions.
Forgiving is a deliberate act of mercy and grace. It also shows the love of Jesus operating in our lives. Just as we have been forgiven by God for every bad thought, word or action, so should we forgive others as much as we can.
God’s graciousness should be the measure of our graciousness towards others. Lets put more kindness in this unkind world! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear Father God, we thank you for pouring your grace and loving us even though we are unworthy and undeserving. Please teach us kindness and love so that we may in turn reflect the grace of Jesus in our daily interactions. In our Lord Jesus name we pray!
Amen!

BUILDING A RELATIONSHIP WITH OUR HEAVENLY FATHER
4 January 2020
“Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.
— James 5:13
Just like our kids connecting with us through speaking (even if it's a tantrums), so should we as children of God connect with him through prayer + thanksgiving.
Today, we are always rushing, meeting date lines and always feeling like there are insufficient hours in a day. Praying may not come naturally as we feel that more can be achieved during the time that we commit to prayer (even though praying may only take less then a minute).
Got a victory at work, with our kids? Lets celebrate it with God! Facing a tough situation? Let's come to him and ask him for help! Let's start our days with a prayer of thankfulness and taking all our requests to our God for he loves us more then we can ever understand on this side of heaven!
Prayer
Dear God Our Heavenly Father, We thank you for always being there for us. Even at times when we forget you due to the busyness of the world, you are faithfully by our side holding us up. We thank you today and forevermore for your love upon us!! In the name of our Lord Jesus we pray!

LIVING LIFE BY THE HOLY SPIRIT!
3 January 2020
“Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.
— John 7:38
Are we living life or letting life live us?
A lot of our daily life becomes a struggle naturally because we are reliant on our own limited capacity without the power of the Holy Spirit As believers, we often forgot about drawing our daily strength from our inner power, the holy spirit.
We think that we can take matters into our own hands but often feel powerless and defeated with life taking its toll on us. Staying in deep fellowship with the holy spirit, we will be continually rejuvenated and refreshed having rivers of living water flowing within us as we live a fulfilled life! Praise the Lord!
Prayer
Dear God our heavenly Father, We thank you for having heard us and for always hearing us. As we go through life with its challenges, please give us an open mind and renewed heart so that we will learn to lean on the power of the holy spirit instead of our own limited capacity. In Jesus Mighty Name we pray!

DEVELOPING OUR SPIDEY SENSE
1 January 2020
“Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak
— Matthew 26:41
Temptation feels wrong, but, it is not sin. Jesus was tempted yet never sinned. Sin occurs when we MISHANDLE Temptation. Today, the lust of the eyes, pride (self glorification) and jealousy (comparison and envy) are all common sins for us. Yielding to temptation through entertaining such thoughts runs a strong risk of us replacing the Fruit of the Spirit with the Fruit of the Flesh.
A THOUGHT now becomes ACTION. I believe that the holy spirits prompting in our hearts is similar to the “spidey sense” in spiderman warning us of the devils temptation before it happens. Reading Gods word and asking for his guidance allow us to develop our spidey sense and:
· Cast out certain thoughts
· Evade trouble by avoiding certain places
· Peels our eyes away from things we are not supposed to see
Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our Heavenly Father, We thank you for giving us a helper in the form of the holy spirit. As humans with a weak nature, its easy for us to be tempted by the physical traps of the devil. Lord, please give us discernment so that we may know what's right and wrong living lives that glorify you.
In Jesus Mighty Name we pray!
Amen!
