Acquiring wisdom = sharpening our edges and operating/achieving in a smarter and proficient manner. God has given us a lot of things to do in life. To accomplish all these, we will need to acquire wisdom not by our own efforts but by asking from our loving father.
Working diligently is crucial. But if not led by Godly wisdom, it is but hard work.
The Bible says,
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him".
Wisdom on how to be good parents, managing work and relationships and for every task we perform. Lets be bold and ask God for WISDOM!
SELF REFLECTION:
1. Identify an area of our lives that we really need help in?
2. Have we been relying on our own methods or come to prayer before God?

Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for having heard us and for always hearing us. Lord, as we go through life having to manage family, work and health we ask that you teach and guide us your ways so that we know and learn to trust in you for wisdom to handle all aspects of our lives In our Lord Jesus name we pray! GODLY LIVING COMES FROM DECLARING RIGHTEOUSNESS IN CHRIST!

“For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous
— Romans 5:19
As believers, we are called to live holy lives displaying the fruit of the spirit and to be graceful in our thoughts and actions. Sadly, more christians are labelled as hypocritical and judgemental as they think that holiness comes from self-effort and self-control. We are declared righteous, and fully accepted by God, not on the basis of any righteousness in us, but by faith in the work of our Risen Christ.
Thinking we can SUPPRESS our anger, thoughts or actions, the more we SUCCUMB to it.
True Freedom and Joy comes from knowing that Gods acceptance of us lies in Jesus. Jesus's blood covers our sin and God sees Christ's righteousness in us. Then, we become the freest people and truest lovers because we draw our joy from a GREATER and DEEPER source.
SELF REFLECTION:
1. Have we truly let go of the mentality of self reliance and submitted to God?
2. What are steps to strengthen our Faith in God?

Lord, even as the world is becoming more and more evil please instil a spirit of love and grace so that we are not conform to the world but instead renewed in our minds to lead lives walking in the spirit and bearing the fruits of the spirit. FAITH ARISES WHEN WE GIVE THANKS AND PRAISES TO GOD

“Then Jesus answered, “Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?” And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well.
— Luke 17:17-19
Watching PM LHL recent Covid address on FB and keyboard warriors criticising him straight off reminds me of the level of ingratitude in the world today. Just as it’s easy to complain over the problems of life, it's even easier to overlook our blessings and forget to be thankful to God.
There are 2 lessons we can learn from this teaching of the 10 lepers:
· They all knew who to rely on for deliverance of their problem.
· Only 1 leper remembered to give thanks and praise to Jesus.
Today, maybe we have asked God for help with healing be it relational restoration, financial repair, spiritual renewal or health. No matter our phase of journey, lets step back and recognize how God has worked already and give our praise and thanks.
SELF REFLECTION:
1. Have we stopped and praised God for the ways he has healed or provided for us?
2. What can we do today to establish a routine of intentional gratitude towards the Lord?

BORN AGAIN IN CHRIST - PART 3 OF 3

“And to put on the NEW SELF, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.
— Ephesians 4:24
Putting on our new self is easier said than done as a true christian life is one of peace but also one of constant spiritual warfare. We speak of doing the right things but fail to do it:
· To speak gracious words but instead harsh and hurting words come out instead
· To think positively but instead harbour judging negative thoughts
· To quit excessive habits but instead keeps delaying.
Paul could not have said it better by teaching that the desires of the flesh work in OPPOSITION of the desires of the Spirit. It's a fierce inner battle that goes on between our old self and new self. While we can never in this life obey God’s law perfectly, we can learn to obey God by yielding to the holy spirit which will sanctify us daily. Our lives will be much more carefree showing LOVE, JOY and PEACE when we walk by the spirit!! Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our loving Father, we thank you for having heard us and for always hearing us. Father please teach us how to submit to the holy spirit so that we can put on Lord Jesus everyday and be transformed in our minds and hearts. In Jesus name we pray! Amen!

BORN AGAIN IN CHRIST - PART 2 OF 3

“And to be RENEWED in the SPIRIT of your MINDS
— Ephesians 4:23
The monkey see monkey do phenomenon is described as copying the behaviour of another without reason or understanding. Many follow the crowd because they think it's better if the majority are doing it too. We see this being displayed in:
· Covid situation where everyone mad rushes for groceries.
· Material world where comparisons and envy happens.
· Education world where kids are stressed with tuition and demands.
God wants us not to simply follow the crowd but to make wise decisions for us and our families. When we truly know that God loves us and wants the best for us, we are then able to be humble and submit to the holy spirit letting him guide us into his plans and purpose for us. Then, our lives will be transformed by the RENEWAL of our minds attaining wisdom and discernment in our lives. Hallelujah!

Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for sending your son Jesus who is perfect to be sin for us so that we who believe receives the holy spirit in us. Lord, please grant us the spirit of humility so that we will be renewed in our minds by the power of the holy spirit. In Jesus name we pray! Amen!

BORN AGAIN IN CHRIST - PART 1 OF 3

“o put off your OLD self, which belongs to your FORMER manner of life and is CORRUPT through DECEITFUL DESIRES.
— Ephesians 4:22
Jesus was teaching Nicodemus that in order to live the new life, one has to be born again. BORN AGAIN denotes that something old has to be given up. We were all physically born from the first man Adam and inherited a sin nature when Adam sinned in the garden of Eden.
The bible teaches that out of our hearts comes evil thoughts, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, pride, etc Therefore, it should not take us by surprise that wickedness and unkindness is rampant today. All of us are not perfect and our old self are the old bundles of thoughts, speech, bitterness and envy that we need to cast out of our lives to be better people.
Lets reflect today on what are the old things that we need to take out of our life, mind, or body? Let's be honest with ourselves and admit to God our weakness! All by his GRACE!
Prayer
Dear God our loving Father, we thank you for your grace upon us. Lord please teach us to identify key areas in our lives that needs to be cast out and changed so that we can put off our old selfs and to put on our Lord Jesus instead. Lead us and guide us! In Jesus name we pray! Amen!

IS GOD IN OUR DRIVERS SEAT OR BACKSEAT TODAY?

“So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it.
— Hebrews 2:1
I recalled a time when i was kayaking. Initially, I was focused on the shoreline to stay guided. Feeling confident, I relaxed and got distracted by the soothing waves. Before I knew it, I drifted too far out and fear set in. Unknowingly, i had drifted away from safety.
Have we become anxious or arrogant today because we have drifted away from God?
Anxious because we are always turning to ourselves for a solution and am exhausted.
Arrogant because we think that all we have are from our efforts and talents.
PRACTICE through continuous learning of scripture makes PERFECT (spiritual maturity). Living in the strong currents of todays busy world, it's too easy to neglect Jesus, put him in the backseat and drift off into dangerous waters away from the grace and salvation that we have in God.
Let's listen to Jesus, learn how he is like, how he sees the world and he will guide us in all areas of our lives from marriage to work to kids to health. Hallelujah!

Dear God our loving Father, we thank you for your truth that's readily available to us today. Lord, we ask for your wisdom so that we can understand your word leaning on your understanding and learn to hang on tight to your promises as children of God. In our Lord Jesus name we pray! Amen!

LIVING THE RENEWED LIFE

“For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.
— Hebrew 8:12
Jesus made a one-time sacrifice that completely removes our sin declaring us righteous before God. Therefore friends, there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. We as human believers will still be tempted to episodes of sin (getting angry, looking at a woman or man a little longer, thoughts or actions of repaying evil for evil).
But we know that our God is faithful to forgive when we confess our sins to him. The blood of Jesus frees us from the chains of sin and sets us free to experience a new life in the spirit sanctifying us daily making our bouts of sin lesser and lesser when we submit humbly to it.
How GRACIOUS and LOVING is our God who not only forgives our sins through Christ but also gives us the holy spirit enabling us to lead a holy life. Hallelujah!
Prayer
Dear God our Loving Father, We thank you for loving us even when we did not care about you. Lord, please grant us a spirit of humility so that we learn to rest in your grace knowing that your word is truth and that your ways are the best. In Jesus name we pray! Amen!

EXPERIENCE LIFE CHANGING SCRIPTURE WITH GODS ILLUMINATION
“Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.
— Psalm 119:18
Have we ever walked away from an unrelatable sermon or devotional? The bible was written by men and sermons preached by men but we need to know that they are but instruments used by God in the spirit to spread his love and the power of Jesus at the cross.
Therefore, it is critical for us to ask God to OPEN OUR EYES so that we can experience his glory and excellence in his word. Without Gods ILLUMINATION, scripture are just words and an author's intention. The Holy Spirit will help us understand a detail at a time, and then something else the next time.
A verse or sermon that seemed rather bland this time will hit us with wisdom-giving insight next time. Let's ask for Gods illumination to open our eyes before we read his word and it may just refresh you! Hallelujah!

THE BEST LIFE INVESTMENT EVER

“May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord
— 2 Peter 1:2
Wow this is our hope! Who would not want Gods grace and peace to multiply in our lives?
Instead of buying toto (just an analogy) like some do (which depletes money and causes stress) to get the big prize, let's invest time (free and obtains all good results) into bringing gods favor into our lives instead.
We all think we can solve problems by ourselves. That's the pride of life. We have problems at work and are wondering how to fulfill all our commitments yet remain sane. We hope that things were better with a friend or family member. We start to think of solutions by our own might and eventually get stumped.
We are not alone. We have the most amazing God given helper in the Holy Spirit who can teach, comfort, and guide us only if we believe in faith.
Lets diligently strive to obtain a deep knowledge of God. The more you spend time with God, the more we will find grace and peace multiplied to us. Hallelujah!

FREEDOM FROM THE BONDAGES OF LIFE IN CHRIST

“And you will know the TRUTH, and the truth will set you FREE.
— John 8:32
Today's world is a confused place, we aim to be happy yet end up doing things that make us unhappy. We may think of bondage as physical but in todays context it is invisible and lies deep in our minds. The desires of our minds determine the bondage we are bound to.
We may unsuspectingly be in bondage to our financials, possessions, emotions, pride or even religion. Especially as believers, we need to know that humans being weak can easily fall prey to the temptation to trust in other things for our freedom in life.
Our pride leads us to think we know the truth but nothing could be further from that truth. The truth today lies in the teachings of God. It may come as a rude shock to some but it is only by knowing Gods truth that our hearts and minds be truly transformed. Soaking in scripture will unleash God’s power in our lives and truly give us the peace and freedom from bondage! Hallelujah!

Dear God our heavenly Father, we thank you for loving us. Lord, please help us to open our hearts and to understand your word so that we may be set free from whatever chains of bondage that holding is back today. In our Lord Jesus name we pray! Amen!
