“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
— Ephesians 4:4-6
Families and friends gathered around to lend their support and celebrate a memorable moment. Joyful faces lit up the quiet foyer. There, in the midst of the crowd, was our recently acquired portable baptismal pool all ready for the baptism to begin! Today, 6 adults and 5 children chose to dedicate their lives to God and professed their faith publicly.
Here is a testimony of a transformed life in Jesus from one of the baptismal candidates:
"Before Christ, I took a long time to recover whenever I am faced with challenges and negative situations. I felt fearful and hopeless when things went wrong. I was fearful, timid and liked to stay in my comfort zone.
Learning to place my trust and commitment to God in a God who loves me, I have no more fear about uncertainty. I also set aside quiet times with God to reflect and connect with Him. Regular praying times together with my family is wonderful. With God in my heart, I am more connected to my family with less fear and more willingness to accept my failures as well as other’s failures. When situations gets tough, I always seek God's strength to fill me with His words and guidance to handle these situations. It has helped me to understand other people's view through God's guidance instead of my own interpretation." - Christine Wu
Have you ever wondered about the significance of baptism? Putting it simply, it speaks of what Christ's finished work on the cross, and it signifies a new life in Christ through forgiveness, cleansing and acceptance into the family of Christ.
