Although the presence of God is always with us, we are often preoccupied with our own difficulties. We fail to seek and hunger for God the way King David did in Psalm 27:4. David sought the Lord through active ploughing and pressed in till there was a breakthrough. In 2 Samuel 4:10 -11, the Israelites thought that if they brought the ark of God into their battle with the Philistines they would be assured of victory. This was not so. They lost the battle and the ark of God was captured.
In Psalm 27:4 why did David seek God? What did he want?
In 2 Samuel 4:10-11 why did the Israelites bring the ark of God into battle? Why did the Lord allow the ark to be captured?
