Quiet Time With Jesus – Show Me

Tuesday, 9 July 2019

Someone said, “God is good but good may not be God.” A ministry leader once said, “Is it a good idea? Or is it a God-idea?” These are words of wisdom especially for those of us who are actively serving God. We should not put ourselves into roles where there is a need [urgent need] without seeking God first. I have run ahead of God many times – too many times – and instead of helping, I have hindered His healing and restoration. I could ‘see’ the outcome only when I reflect over what I have done. To me, reflection is important or I will never learn. God is merciful and faithful. He continues to shape me. I just need to be still…

Turn my eyes upon Jesus

Look full in His wonderful face

And the things of earth will grow strangely dim

In the light of His glory and grace

I just need to be still.

Mary is sitting at Jesus’ feet… (Luke 10:38-42).

We cannot be Mary all the time and we cannot be Martha all the time either. But we can learn from Jesus – learn to be like Jesus - connected to God all the time, listening and watching and doing the Father’s will.

John 5:19-20

“Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does. Yes, and he will show him even greater works than these…”

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

Show me Your ways

That I may walk with You

Show me Your ways

I put my hope in you

The cry of my heart

Is to love You more

To live with the

Touch of Your hand

Stronger each day

Show me Your ways
