Copy of Quiet Time with Jesus – Faithful In Prayer

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
— Romans 12:12

Am I joyful in hope, patient in affliction and faithful in prayer? I ask myself.

Honestly, I don’t think so. I often tell myself to be… to do it… but did not really put to practice. But still, God loves me. At unexpected moments, He puts joy into me; He gives me patience (often, I see that I have no choice but WAIT and TRUST HIM); I pray as and when the Spirit leads. I don’t always pray long prayers. I just pray.

I recall one occasion many years ago when I was called to pray for a Jew (who was from ‘Jews for Jesus’). I was heavily laden with my own problems. I was in the lowest spirit… When I heard my name being called, I stood up and walked forward. My movement was slower than a snail… I knew I could not wriggle out of that situation so I laid hands and prayed. I simply opened my mouth and surrendered it to the Lord. What came out of my mouth amazed me and probably all the people present at that meeting. When I was done, my ministry partner whispered, “That was beautiful.” I whispered back, “I know.” The moment we were alone, I said excitedly, “JESUS LOVES HIM!” That was not me! That was Jesus interceding for His beloved servant (not the exact words that I said, but the exact thing – I couldn’t find the most accurate words to describe it until now). God is awesome!

So often, I tell myself to pray like Jesus but I don’t think I’m doing it. I seem to THINK prayers – that means I have a desire or a need but I do not put it in accurate words. BUT GOD KNOWS. Often, He answers by GIVING me exactly what I need. Often, He GIVES when I was not expecting it. He GIVES and GIVES and GIVES. His LOVE overwhelms me! Someone shared that she felt something like sweet honey flowing over her (one day after service in the PAH), I was amazed by HOW MUCH HE LOVES MY SISTER-IN-CHRIST. God GIVES what we need. God GIVES everything we need. Let us rejoice with thanksgiving!

My Thanksgiving Poem (written on 15 Dec 2011):

Thank You LORD for who You are in my life;
With You LORD in peace and love I survive;

By Your grace Your life flows into mine;
You lead me into Your presence so divine;

You’ve rescued me from death and destruction;
You’ve given me a new life and salvation;

Worshipping You brings me closer to You;
Glorifying You is all that I want to do;

Drawn into Your fountain of life;
Born again in Christ I’m alive!

Power from on high, a continuous flow;
In wisdom and strength I shall grow;

Teach me LORD to honor You, to fear You;
Guard my mouth let my words be few;

To You I turn for guidance and direction;
In You I live my life to the fullest satisfaction;

All day long, I praise Your Holy Name;
In Christ, my life is no longer the same!

Hallelujah!

This is not my best poem but it expresses what is in my heart. God is LOVE. Amen!

God is always with us. For in Him we live and move and have our being. We are His offspring. (Acts 17:27,28)

Let us REJOICE with THANKSGIVING!
