When Jesus was hanging on the cross, enduring the pain physically inflicted on His body, and the pain in His heart for us who are trapped in sin, and the anticipation of what might happen next, what do you think was on His mind?
Was Jesus feeling sad for Himself?
Songs tell us that WE were on His mind. How can we remain stiff-necked, stubborn and stupid?
Jesus cried out to GOD to forgive us! The price He paid for our forgiveness was HIMSELF. Forgiveness was bought with the precious BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST. And God is giving it to us for free. We don’t have to pay anything for the forgiveness of our sins. God forgives us because Jesus paid the price in full.
The BLOOD of Christ is the DOOR to a restored relationship with God. God will give us a NEW HEART and a NEW LIFE. Hallelujah!
The Bible says that we have been justified through FAITH – that we have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have GAINED ACCESS by faith into grace in which we now stand. Thanks be to God!
We rejoice in the hope of the GLORY OF GOD. A beautiful picture of birds flying freeing in the sun came to mind. The Bible says – Not only so, but we also REJOICE in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, HOPE. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out HIS LOVE into our hearts by the HOLY SPIRIT, whom HE HAS GIVEN US.
Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man but God demonstrated His LOVE for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
We just need to take one step – REPENT – that means: Turning back to God.
Result: Redemption, Reconciliation (with God) and Righteousness (in Christ).
Through Jesus Christ, we have been set free from sin and have become SLAVES to righteousness. Apostle Paul put this statement in human terms so that we will understand. We are basically weak and vulnerable like slaves. Paul said, “Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to HOLINESS (Romans 6:19).
Everybody knows that the wages of sin is death but God is reaching out to us with a free gift –ETERNAL LIFE IN CHRIST.
Death is inevitable to the human race. Personally, I do not want to live in this sinful world forever. I want to migrate like the birds, at the right time, to a BETTER PLACE - the place that God has prepared for me.
I have chosen. Have you?
