Quiet Time with Jesus – ROLL

Tuesday, 13 March 2018

ROLL is an acronym:

R – Reflect

O – Obey

L – Live

L – Love

What do believers reflect on? ‘Everything. It is good to reflect on everything whether big or small.’ God is in everything. We can see Him in everything.

Obey - who, what and how? Let’s choose to obey God and His Word. Let’s obey Him with total surrender.

How do believers live? Let us live as new creatures. In the first place, we are fearfully and wonderfully made. So, what happened? Sin and death had contaminated the beautiful world and the beautiful being called ‘man’ that God created. It is time to resist the devil and return to God TOTALLY. Let’s choose to live in Christ.

Love - who and how? Love our neighbor; Love our enemies; How do we love them? We love like Christ loved them. Christ died for everyone. Let us choose to speak the truth in love. Love does not allow evil to take over. God is love. Love stands in truth and grace. Let’s stand in truth and grace.

God’s Redemptive Plan

Can you see God’s redemptive plan? I cannot see everything. I do not understand everything. But I know God is sovereign and He is in control of everything. God’s love is for every man [and woman]. His desire is to save the world, not just one or two persons, not ten or twelve men, but every man on earth shall see Him and know that He exists. God wants us to be His mouthpiece, His hands and feet, His channel of peace, His instrument of love… God’s desire is to restore man [and woman] to the original design. Do we have a lot of time? I don’t think so. Will Jesus return during our lifetime? I don’t know but I do know that we are getting closer and closer to Jesus’ return. Seriously, I think we do not have much time left to do what God wants us to do. I do not want to be one of the unprepared virgins.

Jesus said,

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
— Matthew 11:28-30

In life there will be trouble. Trouble is good; trouble tests us; trouble toughens us; trouble teaches us. God uses trouble to transform us. It takes time to be transformed totally. God is patient. He is our Good Father, Good Teacher, Good Lover. His love endures forever.

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

I choose not to strive any more. I can accomplish nothing on my own. Jesus said, “Apart from me, you can do nothing.”

Dear Jesus, beloved Son of God, we need You. The Body of Christ needs You. Without You, we have no head. Come Lord Jesus! Come into our lives. Please take over. We want to enter into Your rest. Amen!

Jesus said,

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
— John 14:27

Jesus promises peace; The Lord also promises joy. The joy of the Lord is our strength. God promises love. GOD IS LOVE. He has already demonstrated His love for us. He will not love us more. He will not love us less. He has loved us with His whole heart.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him
— John 3:16-17

Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
