Hope and faith produce strength and endurance. Hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us (Romans 5:5). Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise (Hebrews 10:23). Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:31). Let Your unfailing love surround us, Lord for our hope is in You alone (Psalm 33:22). HOPE ANCHORS THE SOUL (Hebrews 6:19).
For in this hope we are saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we WAIT for it with patience (Romans 8:24-25). May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him (Romans 15:13).
In life, we face many occasions of uncertainty. There are times of waiting for results (medical, exam, interview, election…) It is possible to rest and wait without fear or anxiety if our hope is in the Lord. Jeremiah 29:11 - “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Knowing that God has the best plan for us puts us at ease. No matter what the report (result) says, God is in control.
Dear Father God,
I know there are many people going through difficult times e.g. parents caring for a sick child, wife caring for a sick husband or husband caring for a sick wife, children caring for aging parents, people who are unemployed, people working under stress, workers who are exploited, oppressed… Lord, I lift them up to You.
You are God of mercy and hope. I pray for situations to turn around. You said that all things will work for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. I pray that Your light shines through all Your children and Your love empowers them to change the atmosphere at their workplace and homes. Your love and joy and peace shall flood the earth. Your glory shall cover the whole earth. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
I pray specifically for __________ (fill in the blank) that Your presence continues to give him (her) strength to endure whatever he (she) sees or feels physically but Your promises shall stand firm in his mind and heart through faith in Christ. He (She) will not lose hope. His (Her) eyes are on You. Your steadfast love shall never cease; Your mercies shall never come to an end; They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness, O Lord!
