Quiet Time With Jesus – Spiritual Feast

Wednesday, 5 September 2018

Some people are not satisfied just to fast until they see the breakthrough they need in their lives. They want more. I think the more we fast the more we hunger for God and His Presence in our lives. A physical fast becomes a spiritual feast in the Lord. How awesome!

The Bible says: Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.
— PSALM 34:8

Fasting is a spiritual feast. When Jesus was fasting (for forty days) He was feasting on God. Jesus was able to resist Satan’s temptations. When we do the same, our physical body will be cleansed and our spiritual being will be purified and nourished by the Spirit of God. As we enter into a time of prayer and intercession, we become extraordinarily sensitive to the voice of God. The more we encounter Him, the more we want to feast on Him. The more we immerse in His Holy Presence, the more we are able to see, smell, taste and know His goodness. The more we sense His presence, the clearer we can see and hear and understand, and the greater the assurance. Thanks be to God!

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

The more we read the Bible the more questions we have. The more knowledge we have about You, the more we want to know You. I pray that all followers of Christ (myself included) will encounter Your presence whenever we fast and pray. May we feast on Your Word and dwell in Your Presence until we are satisfied.

The Bible says:

When Jesus’ disciples urged Him to eat something, Jesus said to them, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about. My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to finish His work.
— John 4:31-34

Let us be true disciples of Jesus Christ, follow His ways and be rewarded the way Jesus was rewarded. Hallelujah!

All praise and glory to God!
