If someone asks me the question, “Are you still waiting?” My answer is “Yes, I’m still waiting.” “What do you expect to see?” I have a picture in mind – a ‘normal’ picture – but I have realized that my picture is not God’s picture [just like my thoughts are not His thoughts].
I have decided to surrender my picture to God. “Have Your way O God! I know that Your mercies are new every morning. Amen!”
When things did not turn out the way I had wanted [and prayed], I waited. I continued to watch and pray…
When I knew things are not going to be the way I thought it should be i.e. the ‘normal’ pattern [of the world], I surrendered. The pattern (of my life and my family) that has been woven is different from the one I had in mind on Day 1. God is sovereign. I have and will continue ‘weaving’ according to God’s pattern. I decided to seek God in everything I do (sometimes I did not, but I always remind myself to seek God and His righteousness first). That’s a very helpful and powerful Bible verse: Seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, and all these shall be added to you (Matthew 6:33).
These are my testimonies: God has given me what I needed. He is truly my Provider. He protects me when I don’t even know (Psalm 121). I have everything I need (Psalm 23).
Yesterday morning, I was annoyed by a text… Such messages (of ill intent) have been going round for a while and I felt a strong urge to go to God in prayer…
Someone said it’s all planned – a destructive plan - to tear down a strong foundation built over 50 years. If that is true, we must pray. Someone said God is in control. I fully agree. God can use evil for good. Hallelujah! That means we (disciples of Jesus Christ) have to continually pray that God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We must not slacken. We must not sleep.
God has a redemptive plan. We are His ministry partners, His co-workers on earth – God uses us to get things done. We do our part and He will do His part. Our part is to tell the world about Him. He is holy. He is just. Let us show the world how to live in His grace and goodness. His part is the supernatural part – the part that we do not see… Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1). And without faith it is impossible to please God. He rewards those who earnestly seek Him (Hebrews 11:6) Thanks be to God!
By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. We are present-day Noahs. We are continually warned. If we hear His voice, we should continue ‘building the ark’ (i.e. continually watching and praying for our nation, for our children, grand-children, great grand-children…). Jesus said: Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation (Matthew 26:41).
God has a plan for our nation. God has a plan for our descendants. God sees the end from the beginning. We do not see it now but God already has a picture in His mind. He is using us to weave that picture into reality. As we continue to seek Him, let us surrender and submit to His way.
Dear Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen!
IF we forgive men when they sin against us, You will also forgive us. But IF we do not forgive others their sins, You will not forgive our sins. This is Your Word telling us the consequence of bearing grudges [not letting go] and holding unforgiveness in our hearts. The consequence is grave.
The Bible also says: Do not judge, or you too will be judged (Matthew 7:1).
Dear Father God, I pray that our LOVE (especially for people who are not living right) abound more and more. Give us knowledge and depth of insight so that we may be able to DISCERN what is best and what is PURE and BLAMELESS until the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ. Amen!
We give You all praise and glory!
Apostle Paul urged us to pray and intercede, with thanksgiving for EVERYONE – for all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all GODLINESS and HOLINESS. This is good and pleases God our Saviour - WHO WANTS ALL MEN TO BE SAVED AND TO COME TO A KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH.
The Bible also says: I WANT MEN EVERYWHERE TO LIFT UP HOLY HANDS IN PRAYER, WITHOUT ANGER OR DISPUTING. (1 Timothy 2:8)
This burden weighs heavily on my heart – this burden of GOD’S LOVE FOR SINNERS - while sin rages like fire among us here in our nation and out there in the world. We must go on our knees before the throne of grace for all the people doing the things that God hates. We must love what God loves and hate what God hates. God loves people. God hates sin. We must know the difference. The Bible says: Mercy triumphs over judgement (James 2:13). To God be the glory!
What makes Satan tremble?
Answer: Prayer that connects with God. The devil trembles when he sees Christians on their knees in prayer. (Ray Ellis wrote on 17 Nov 2003.)
Prayer is communicating with God. We can pour out all our grievances to God. He knows anyway. We can pour it all out to Him. We should empty ourselves so that God can fill us up. Let us HEAR what God has to say about a situation and KNOW what He wants us to do.
When you hear His voice, do not harden your heart!
Let us remember that God is merciful. He is patient and kind. HE IS LOVE. Amen!
