Quiet Time With Jesus – How Are You Today?

Friday, 27 July 2018

As I was praying for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are in the missions field, the words ‘doors of opportunity’ came to mind.

So, I prayed, “Dear Father God, I pray for doors of opportunity to remain open for evangelists - to enter in Your Name to preach the Good News - unafraid of any hindrances in the world. But, we are not relying on our own craftiness or eloquence but on the move of Your Holy Spirit who initiates, inspires and influences. Father God, I know Your Spirit goes before us preparing the way for our message to be heard even by the deaf. I know Your Spirit moves with us guiding us every step of the way. I know that a thousand may fall at our side, ten thousand at our right hand, but it will not come near us. I know that the Holy Spirit climbs every mountain and crosses every valley with us. When we are weak, You are strong! When we are sad, You give us joy. When we are troubled, You give us peace – peace that surpasses understanding. When we struggle with our flesh to love one another, You give us the power to do so.

Dear God, You are good! Yes, You are good all the time and all the time, You are good. We are grateful! We want to reap a bountiful harvest for Your glory so that the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. Hallelujah! Glory be to Your Name!

I continue to pray as the Spirit leads... I remember what my Bible teacher once said, “Wherever and whenever the Word is preached, there is power.” Such confidence amazes me. Godly men and women inspire me. They boost my confidence and I am re-charged to arise and ‘do something’ too… I do not want to waste my life. Jesus died on the cross for me so that I may live. How wonderful! How beautiful is His Name!

Focusing on Jesus (and not on my own problems) gives me unspeakable joy. He is invincible. Through Him who love us, we are more than conquerors. If you need a boost from heaven, go to Jesus. To some of us, Jesus may say, “Is that you? Where have you been? I’ve been waiting for you a long time. Come…”

The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20)

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And SURELY, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, TO THE VERY END OF THE AGE.”

What an awesome promise! What more do we need?

Indeed, God’s grace is sufficient for me. His power is made perfect in my weakness.

So, how are you today? Are you happy or sad? Are you inspired or dejected?

No matter how you feel, God’s promise is clear – HE IS WITH US ALWAYS.

Amen!
