Quiet Time with Jesus – Access

Thursday, 5 April 2018

In life, we encounter pain and suffering. Sometimes, I wonder what life would be like IF Adam and Eve did not sin. Would we be living boring lives? We don’t like to be bored. We look for fun, new experiences, adventures… Personally, I didn’t and I still don’t like people telling me what to do and what not to do. It is PRIDE. If I make a mistake, I make a mistake. I was so fascinated by Dr. Maria Montessori’s method of teaching young children. She allows children to make mistakes. She gives them the opportunity to discover and correct their mistakes themselves.

We can never personally experience Jesus’ agony in the garden of Gethsemane. We can never personally experience His pain as He hung on the cross of Calvary. WE CAN ONLY IMAGINE His pain and suffering. He did it for us – for ALL of us – no one is excluded. IF we only believe, we will receive God’s gift of forgiveness and salvation. God is love.

The DOOR remains open for us to gain access to the throne of grace. Jesus’ precious blood is sprinkled on the mercy seat.

The writer of Hebrews reminds us of Jeremiah’s prophecies (chapter 31, verses 33 and 34): This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds. Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”

It is a call to persevere. Since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the Blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us DRAW NEAR TO GOD with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

Let us hold unswervingly to the HOPE we profess, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we can SPUR ONE ANOTHER ON toward LOVE and GOOD DEEDS. Let us ENCOURAGE ONE ANOTHER as we see the Day of the Lord approaching.

Come! Do not delay! The Lord invites all to come. Just as you are, come!
