On Sunday 4 March, we had a church event – TJO (Take Jesus Out) at Kallang Riverside. The event was a wonderful success. Thanks be to God!
On Monday 5 March, I went to Singapore Botanic Gardens for my usual morning walk. From a distance of about 10 metres, I saw a woman feeding an infant. I could not resist going closer to take a look. The baby is beautiful! His name is Frederick. After chatting with his mother for a few minutes, I walked away. And then, I heard a voice, “Why didn’t you share Christ?”
While I was still pondering over the question, I saw a monitor lizard in the Swan Lake. A few people were looking into the water. After they have walked away, a young lady remained standing near me. I pointed to the monitor lizard that had swam across the lake to the other side. She exclaimed, “Oh! I have never seen one!” We started chatting. She is in Singapore on holiday. Her husband works for PWC. They will be leaving on Friday.
“Can I share Christ with her?”
The outreach event on Sunday has left an amazing impact on me. I want to do more. The desire to share Christ (with strangers) is growing stronger and stronger.
Below are some quotes that have inspired me lately:
“Live in such a way that those who know you, but don’t know God, will come to know God because they know you.”
“Sharing Christ with the world means being deliberate and prepared.”
John Wesley: “Catch on fire with enthusiasm and people will come for miles to watch you burn.”
Lee Strobel: “All Christians should be able to articulate reasons why they believe what they believe – not just for the sake of our spiritually confused friends, but also so that we ourselves will have a deeper and more confident faith.”
Bill Bright: “Successful witnessing is taking the initiative to share Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit and leaving the results to God.”
Our HIGHEST calling in life is to SHARE THE LOVE AND TRUTH OF CHRIST with those who don’t yet know Him.
Apostle John said,
Dear Father God,
THANK YOU for giving us eternal life. Our life is in Christ.
FILL US with the Holy Spirit and the power to share the Gospel with anyone and everyone, wherever You lead us. You are the One who prepares people to hear the Gospel with open hearts.
Father God, You are good. You keep promises. We are not afraid to open our mouths to share the GOOD NEWS because we know You are the One giving us the words to say. Hallelujah!
HELP US to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, obedient and faithful to Your calling. And as we listen and yield to the Holy Spirit, give us wisdom and courage. Anoint our lips. Bless our hands.
