On Monday 24 July, I smiled and spoke to an elderly man at the Botanic Gardens. I thought he is someone from China but he is not. He is a Singaporean, age 72, happy with life. He is working part-time in the gardens sweeping up leaves. I did not tell him about Jesus. I wonder whether it is because the opportunity did not arise or the Holy Spirit did not prompt me or there is some other hidden reason?
Dear Lord, please open my eyes to see humanity from your perspective. Please sharpen my ears to hear Your voice when You speak. Amen.
I have encountered two kinds of people who say they do not need God: The ‘happy and contented’ ones and the ‘rich’ ones. The happy and contented people are so contented with their life-style that they choose to remain status quo. The rich ones think that they have everything and they claim that they are not in need of anything.
Please help us tear down the barriers that block our progress in rounding up Your sheep. Like Joshua, we want to tear down the walls. Yes! By the power of Your Spirit, let the walls come tumbling down. Amen.
I also pray that we may become like Paul - who became ‘ALL THINGS TO ALL PEOPLE’ - so that by all possible means we might save some. Anoint us (each and every one of us) for every special moment set apart for Your will to be done - through us. In Jesus’ beautiful, wonderful and powerful name I pray. Amen!
