Interesting - today is ‘Labour Day’ and I’m going to write about ‘Letting Go’.
Whether it is something good or bad, we must learn to let go. If we are blessed with success upon success, wealth upon wealth, fame upon fame… We must not forget the Giver; We must not hold on to such things tightly;
If we are facing problem upon problem, difficulty upon difficulty, sorrow upon sorrow… We must not forget that God is our good good Father; He is our Creator; He is forever watching over us; He is the Giver of good and perfect gifts; Even as we go through all kinds of problems, difficulties (frustration) and / or sorrow (loss, pain), GOD IS NEAR. WE NEED NOT FEAR.
I believe in the supernatural. I believe in the spiritual. The Bible tells me that God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:24)
We are natural beings. We are also spiritual beings. We can do all the things that God has created us to do (naturally). The Bible tells us that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. (Philippians 4:13) Therefore, if we want to learn how to swim, we learn from a swimming instructor. We need diligence and determination if we want to swim better and better. But naturally, we can never swim like a fish. However, if we want to learn about spiritual things, we learn by reading the Bible and asking God questions about the things that we do not understand.
Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever – the SPIRIT OF TRUTH, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. (John 14:15-17)
Jesus also said, “Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I (am) in My Father, and you (are) in Me, and I (am) in you. (John 14:19b-20)
What Jesus said is supernatural. It’s spiritual. Just imagine: Jesus in God, we in Jesus, Jesus in us = God in us. This statement is unimaginably wonderful! We understand because we know God and He gives us spiritual understanding when we ask Him. The world does not understand because the world does not know Him yet.
Jesus continued to say, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21)
Jesus seems to be very long-winded. We must be alert and aware that – in this day and time, many people tend to stop listening when a speaker is long-winded.
“These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” (John 14:26)
Amazed by the clouds early yesterday morning, I took some pictures with my phone. When I looked at the pictures, I saw a speck on the first picture. It was an eagle and a poem flowed through my mind and fingers into my phone:
My Poem – An Eagle
He is soaring high above; Empowered by unconditional love; Effortlessly he simply glides; All that he needs, God provides; Majestic and meek, carried by the wind; Let us yield to The Spirit deep within; Amen!
And as I prayed yesterday morning, the words “great and unimaginably wonderful” came into my mind and prayer. Indeed, the Holy Spirit is amazing!
God created a bird called the eagle. It has huge wings. I think an eagle has to go through ‘problems, difficulties and sorrow’ of its kind before it can soar high in the sky. When it is soaring high, the eagle simply spreads its God-given wings and allows the wind to carry it… Likewise, God gives us natural abilities. We might go through ‘problems, difficulties and sorrow’ of our kind before we can ‘soar’. When we are soaring, we simply need to use our God-given abilities and allow the Holy Spirit to carry us through…
Dear Father God,
Please teach us – each and every believer - how to worship You in spirit and truth. In Jesus’ unimaginably wonderful name, I pray. Amen!
