Quiet Time with Jesus – A Gentle Reminder

Thursday, 9 March 2017

Isaiah said,

Seek the LORD while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will freely pardon.
— Isaiah 55:6-7

Jesus' teaching can be found in Matthew chapters 5, 6 and 7.

Small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

 Jesus said in Matthew 7:14.

And when Jesus came down from the mountainside (after teaching), large crowds followed him. A man with a skin disease came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately the man was cured of his skin disease.
— Matthew 8:1-3

This is what I perceive: The man with the skin disease is the PICTURE of a man inflicted by sickness. The act of kneeling before Jesus is the POSTURE of repentance. The word “Lord” is the PROCLAMATION of who Jesus is.

My Prayer

SOVEREIGN LORD, give me vision to see what You want me to see. Whether it is revelation, discernment or the gift of knowledge, teach me LORD, what to do with it. I will yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray. Amen.

The Bible tells us that Jesus was heard because of His reverent submission. Although He was a Son, He learned obedience from what he suffered and once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.

A Gentle Reminder To All Followers of Jesus Christ

This is love: that we walk in obedience to His commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love. (2 John:6)
