Grief overwhelmed Jesus when he saw Mary weeping… He was deeply moved in spirit and troubled.
Jesus had said to Lazarus' sister, “Your brother will rise again” and Martha had replied, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
At a recent wake, joy overwhelmed me to tears when I saw the cross on the coffin. I did not know that the deceased was a believer of Christ. No word can describe this kind of joy that comes out of grief. No word.
I could imagine Jesus watching and weeping, listening and smiling as the son of the deceased told me that he believes in Jesus too.
I recall these words: “God has not promised skies always blue, flower-strewn pathways all our lives through; God has not promised sun without rain, joy without sorrow, peace without pain. But God has promised strength for the day, rest for the labour, light for the way, grace for the trials, help from above, unfailing sympathy, undying love.” I believe God keeps promises. Amen.
With the same spirit of faith as the psalmist, we also believe and shall therefore speak, because we know that the ONE who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus. Let us pray that the Grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the Glory of God.
Sometimes, we may think that our sharing of the Gospel is not bearing any fruit but we know that God’s ways are not our ways. We just need to trust Him and wait for His Perfect Timing.
Would you share the joy of Jesus with someone today?
