Quiet Time with Jesus – Divine Mentor

Monday, 16 May 2016

Yesterday, I had an opportunity to share with someone how I think. As thoughts flow through my mind, I find myself having a conversation with a close Friend. When I ask, He answers. I can tell Him my deepest feelings – even bad ones. I can be myself – sad, angry… He allows me to pour out my feelings thoroughly and completely. He listens. He does not interrupt me. Sometimes, He speaks in a firm voice, “Stop. You are heading the wrong direction.” Straight away, I know what He means and I will turn back … He is my Divine Mentor (DM).

My DM allows me to ‘empty my cup’ without shame or self-condemnation. He waits until I am done with pouring out all my feelings.

Gently, my DM speaks. Patiently, He shows me things. He is never in a hurry.

I have experienced successes and scars. God has not finished with me yet. He is still shaping me to become the person He wants me to be. May I learn and grow to glorify Him – may the world around me see more of Him. Amen!

 My Prayer

Dear Father God

You have given us a Divine Mentor. He lives in us. He listens. He speaks. He knows our deepest desires. He knows our deepest pain. He is our closest Friend. Thank You Lord!

Thank You for showing me a heart in the fire … Surely LOVE can withstand the fire! It cannot be destroyed! Our weapon is LOVE. Our shield is LOVE. LOVE conquers all.

You have made us to be a kingdom (Revelation 1:6) – We are Your kingdom! We are invading earth!

God, You are LOVE. LOVE is invading earth! To You be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

As I stared at the heart in the fire, I saw Daniel’s friends in the fiery furnace. And then, I saw Jesus! Daniel’s friends were NOT burned to death because Jesus was there with them. Daniel is my mentor too! Thank You LORD!

This is the best time in my life – living in Christ – renewing my mind. Hallelujah!

You are instructing me and teaching me in the way I should go; You are counselling me and watching over me. You are my Divine Mentor. Thank You! Amen!
