In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus explains to his disciples why he speaks in parables, quoting the prophet Isaiah:
Jesus’ disciples are blessed, he says, because they do “see” and “hear” the reality of God’s kingdom. They are transformed by what they hear.
Truly, the message of salvation is for all who “will listen” (Acts 28:28). The apostles had been radically changed by Jesus’ life and teaching, and they worked tirelessly and boldly to spread the good news.
I pray that people will “listen” when I share the good news of salvation. I want to be radically changed by Jesus’ life and teaching. I pray that I can work tirelessly and boldly to spread the good news. Amen!
I also want to pray for the body of Christ. Father God, I pray that You will help us - all my brothers and sisters in Christ and I – to discover principles applicable to our daily walk with You. Help us lay a strong foundation for prayer, mission, and personal reflection and growth.
I pray that You will send us to places of brokenness and redemption around the world. Even for those of us who are unable to go to these places, we can pray. The people of the world need the church’s intercession and God’s intervention. Unite us in vital intercession O LORD GOD! Amen!
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
O, LET US HEAR!
