When a child is born, God already has a plan for the child - just like the time when God created Adam, God had a plan – a perfect plan. However, God also set rules – rules that He Himself must abide by. He does not lie. He will never lie. He will never go back on His Word. What He has said - He will do. Therefore, we can trust Him with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. In ALL OUR WAYS, we must acknowledge Him and He will MAKE OUR PATHS STRAIGHT. Amen! Proverbs 3:5-6 (emphasis mine)
As I recall the big picture of my life, I could see His hand guiding me to where I am today. I love reading. This love began when I was a child in primary school. I was an Enid Blyton fan. I love inspirational poems. This love began when I was a teenager, seeking peace. I was and still am a Helen Steiner Rice fan. I love to write. This love began when I started writing and sharing testimonies (in writing) through ‘CMCNET’. I write for ‘fear’ of forgetting what God has done for me. I enjoy writing verses, poems, and quotes into pretty booklets. I collect them. They are my treasured possessions.
When I was an Assistant Operations Manager, I knew that I was not as well-educated as my new colleagues (subordinates) who were all university graduates. I began to rise from bed at 5am to read books and articles on finance and banking. I knew I had to continuously upgrade myself in knowledge and skills. My wonderful ‘boss’ (CCF) sent me to all kinds of seminars. I love to read self-improvement books. One of my favourite is ‘The One-minute Manager’. I applied. It worked! When I was desperate, I would go to a bookshop and before I entered, I would pray to my God to lead me to the ‘right’ book. He answered my prayer each time, without fail. I would apply the methods suggested in the book ... I knew there is a God who loves me. I knew that my God watches over me. At that time, I didn’t know Jesus but one book that I read every morning was the Holy Bible. I read Paul's letters. I was drawn to the Word of God by Paul's writing.
Today, I am walking with Jesus. He is the perfect model for me. I listen to His voice through the Holy Spirit. I am working out my salvation, walking in love, living in Him and loving every moment of my life as a Christian. Thanks be to God!
Dear reader of this devotional,
It is not too late to come to Christ. He has every person in His heart. Although you do not know Him, HE KNOWS YOU. And HE LOVES YOU.
Life is not a bed of roses after we accept Christ. It is the beginning of a journey. We begin to walk with Him, learn from Him and we also begin to fight battles with the enemy. We will win some, and we will lose some. BUT, we do not lose heart becauseGOD IS NEAR – always.
He allows ‘defeat’ so that we gain Victory In Him. VICTORY IN CHRIST is not victory in the eyes of the world. The best example is the crucifixion of Christ. The world sees an innocent man dying on the cross. God turned away IN LOVE because it was HIS WILL to allow His Only Begotten Son to die on the cross FOR THE WORLD. God sets the rules. He does not compromise on His own standard. Only a man without sin can take the place of all men and all women. Jesus bore our sins on the cross.
Jesus shared in our humanity so that by His death He destroyed him who holds the power of death – that is, the devil – and free us whose lives were held in slavery by our fear of death. Because Jesus Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help all of us who are being tempted.
During the days of His life on earth, Jesus offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the ONE who could save Him from death, and He was heard because of HIS REVERENT SUBMISSION.
If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God (Hebrews 10:26-27).
The Bible says that there is no fear in love (1 John 4:18). Perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with PUNISHMENT. The one who fears is NOT made perfect in love.
Dear Father God, if we obey Your commands out of fear of punishment, then it is not love. But, if we obey Your commands because we love You, then it is perfect love.
Please change our mindset, O Lord! I pray that Your Blood flows not only over us but also inside us, through every vein, every artery, bringing life to every part of our body, making us whole – spirit, soul and body. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen!
Today, Jesus is asking us three times, “Do you love me?”
May God Himself, the God of peace sanctify us through and through. May our whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The One who calls us is faithful and He will do it (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24).
