Dave Dravecky: Wouldn’t it be easier to follow God if we have something like that big cloud to lead us? The good news is that we do! The God who inhabited that cloud now inhabits me! Because Jesus is my Savior, God’s Spirit lives within me.
LYL: Jesus is alive! He lives in me! Hallelujah!
My personal experience: God points to signs (with words or pictures) to lead me … to direct me … He cheers me on! His Spirit within me energizes me … encourages me … He gives me strength!
Rick Renner: The Greek describes us being locked up inside Jesus Christ. Paul is saying we have actually been placed inside Jesus Christ; He has become our realm of existence and the place of our habitation. Because the power of God is also located inside the Lord, and we are also located inside the Lord, it means we are constantly rubbing elbows with this divine power on a minute-to-minute basis.
In Him, there is peace, joy and wisdom. From time to time, I need to ‘check my position’ with Him. Have I been going off on my own? Have I been depending on my own strength, or my own abilities? When I feel ‘empty’ or ‘dry’, I need to wait on Him, just like the Israelites waited for that cloud.
Someone gave me a tee-shirt. It says, “Woman of the Year” and in smaller print are the words, “I’m nothing without God” – how true!
My prayer: Dear Father God, I want to be a ‘woman of the year’ in Your eyes. I know that I’m nothing – absolutely nothing - without You! Whenever I begin to feel ‘self-confident’ and move too fast, please hold me back!
Dear Lord, by the power of the Holy Spirit within me, let me exercise self-control, self-check, and self-discipline! Whenever You shower me with lots of favor, let me not be proud! You oppose the proud but gives grace to the humble. Whenever You test me, let me discern and learn. Let me follow You regardless of circumstances. If You are before me and behind me, I have no fear. I will have no concern.
Dear Lord, help me to make right decisions, always check my position and surely, in Your time, I will reach the right destination. Hallelujah!
Father, I will trust in You with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding; And in all my ways I will acknowledge You, and You will make my paths straight. Amen!
My Poem – Obedience
Blessed is the person with a humble heart; Who is prepared and willing to do his part.
He dwells in the holy presence of the LORD; He partakes the divine nature of his God.
Living by the Spirit, and not by might; On God’s Word, he meditates day and night.
He’s like a tree planted by streams of water; Steadfast in the LORD, he will not falter.
Yielding good fruits in and out of season; Having Christ in him is the reason.
Agape-love and zoe-life Jesus offers; The faithful and obedient servant prospers.
He’s not rebellious, stubborn, or impure; He’s submissive, sanctified, and secure.
The righteous in Christ will flourish; In due time, the enemy will perish.
Hallelujah! Praise the LORD! Amen!
