Quiet Time with Jesus – Inside Out

Monday, 15 February 2016

Transformation has to be inside out otherwise it would be hypocrisy (what we see on the outside is not what it is on the inside).

As we walk with the Spirit day by day, feeding on His Word, our minds are being renewed.

The renewal process is like a foetus developing in the mother’s womb. When the foetus is fully developed, a child is born.

Wayne Cordeiro: As we draw close to Jesus, the CORE of our hearts and the PRACTICES that flow from our hearts become places of solidity and steadfastness. Our hearts become foundations for righteous living developed in conjunction with God and His Word.

LYL: When we get the inside right, the outside will show.

The Bible tells us that we will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature IF we live by the Spirit. Paul makes a list of the acts of the sinful nature in Galatians 5 and he warns us that those who live by the sinful nature WILL NOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM (verses 19-21).

God wants us to be rooted and established in Christ so that we may display the fruit of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control – from INSIDE OUT. Hallelujah!

Since the fall of man, God is redeeming us and correcting us back to His image.

Do you have a correct picture of His image?

The voice of God will always sound like the Bible. If we want to know what God is like, we must read the Bible. That would give us a true picture of Christ. Throughout the Bible, we can see Christ. Thanks be to God!

When we allow the Word of God to give us the correct picture of Jesus, we will find that Jesus is kind but not necessarily tolerant; He is forbearing but not soft; He is all-powerful but not all-controlling; He is fatherly, but not patronizing; He is patient, but not lenient (excerpt from the book ‘Jesus – pure and simply’ by Wayne Cordeiro).

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

How I love the song “Good Good Father”. Oh Yes!

You’re a good good father; It’s Who You are; It’s Who You are; It’s Who You are;

And I’m loved by You; It’s who I am; It’s who I am; It’s who I am;

You are perfect in all of Your ways; You are perfect in all of Your ways; You are perfect in all of Your ways;

Oh, it’s LOVE so undeniable; I, I can hardly speak; PEACE so unexplanable; I, I can hardly think; As You call me deeper still; As You call me deeper still; As You call me deeper still; Into LOVE, LOVE, LOVE …

Jesus said,

“Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
— Matthew 5:48

Let us run with endurance the race You have set before us, by keeping our EYES on JESUS, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Let us press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize.

In Jesus’ name I pray, amen!
