Quiet Time with Jesus – Much to learn

Wednesday, 7 December 2016

There is much to learn. The only reliable teacher is the Lord Himself. When I ask my friends for their opinion, their input usually comes from different perspectives. When I read the four gospels, I could see the life of our Lord Jesus Christ through the eyes of four different men. But, there is no contradiction in His Word.

The Christian faith is deeply rooted in the knowledge that God is GOOD and HOLY. He is pure and righteous. He does not tolerate sin. He is our FATHER. He is also the JUDGE. And all that we need is a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Him.

Just imagine, we can fellowship with the KING of kings without fear.  We serve the LORD of Lords who is not a slave driver but a faithful partner. And through it all, He strengthens us with power through His Spirit in our inner being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. True disciples of Jesus Christ are rooted and established in love. I pray that we (the church) may have power to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the LOVE OF CHRIST and to know this LOVE that surpasses knowledge – that we (the church) may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:16-19). Amen!

I’m thinking of 4 ‘ships’ – discipleship, partnership, fellowship and relationship with God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah!

Osward Chambers (OC): I must deliberately give my sanctified life to God for His service, so that He can use me as His hands and His feet.

My Prayer

Dear Father God

It is the greatest honor to be used by You. Like OC, I want to give You my life so that You can use me as:

Your hands (when I touch);

Your feet (when I walk);

Your heart (when I pray);

Your mouth (when I talk);

Sprinkle clean water on us, and we will be clean; Cleanse us from all our impurities and from all our idols. Give us a new heart and put a new spirit in us; Remove from us our heart of stone and give us a heart of flesh. Put Your Spirit in us and move us to follow Your decrees and be careful to keep Your laws. We are Your people and You are our God. Amen!

O God, You are omnipotent! You are omnipresent! You are omniscient!

O God, we worship You! We love You! We honor You! We praise You! We thank You! You are GREAT! You know all the schemes of the devil. Teach us Lord! Teach us to resist him. In Christ, we stand victorious!

Truly, there is so much to learn! Take away our pride! Take away our presumptions! Take away our filthy rags! Clothe us in white robes and give us salve to put on our eyes, so we can see. Those whom You love You rebuke and discipline. We repent, O LORD!

As we overcome, You will give us the right to sit with You on Your throne, just as Jesus overcame and sat down with You, O Heavenly Father, on Your throne. Give us ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to us, the church. Amen!

To God be the glory!
