Quiet Time with Jesus – Seasoned with salt

Monday, 5 January 2016

It was 24 Apr 2016 - a class reunion. Many were unable to make it. Finally, only six attended. Three of us are Christians. Out of the blue, one of them said to me, “You are active in church, right?” “How does she know?” I wondered. After that, the Holy Spirit led us into an awesome sharing of God’s goodness and grace. I could hardly believe that it was possible! Yes, with God all things are possible! I did not even pray beforehand for the ‘window’ of opportunity to open for us to share the Gospel. But, God has a plan. It does not matter whether someone is converted but our response to the Holy Spirit’s prompting does matter. Do not ignore Him. God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. Hallelujah!

I always feel a leap in my heart whenever the ‘window’ opens. With much delight, I will tell my stories. I have many stories to tell. It’s never pre-planned. God is good. He provides real life stories. I realized that I cannot do much when things are pre-planned. I always feel nervous and awkward. I desperately need His guidance all the time and He never fails me. Praise the Lord!

I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
— John 15:5

Two years ago, that was what I heard Him say when I knelt before the altar. Again and again, He reminds me and I began to change.

What I always need is: an ear that is tuned to His voice, a mind that is aligned to His thoughts and a heart that is tender towards all people. Today, rejection does not discourage me much. I just pray (silently) and move on.

Dear Father God, I know that You are not born on Christmas day but the whole world rejoices in December every year. It is an opportunity for us to sow seeds of lovingkindness. It is an opportunity for us to water the seeds planted by fellow believers. It is an opportunity for us to provide nutrients to seedlings already sprouting from the ground.

Let our conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that we may know how to answer everyone.
— Colossians 4:6

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with all of us.

Let God transform us by changing the way we think. Then, we will know what God wants us to do. (Romans 12:2)
