Quiet Time with Jesus – Holy Spirit, You are welcome here!

Tuesday, 20 December 2016

The ritual of sacrificing an animal is common. People on earth do it because they believe that the gods that they worship will - protect them, grant their wishes, answer their prayers…

Christians are believers of Christ - followers and disciples of Jesus Christ. Christians do not sacrifice animals (or birds) any more. Our sacrifice was provided by our God Himself. Today, we open our mouths and raise our voices, lift our hands and give our hearts - to offer up sacrifices of praise to our Living God. We are called to be LIVING SACRIFICES (Romans 12). We are called to be God’s partners in this world. We proclaim we are friends of God - God Himself reveals truth to us. We proclaim we are His disciples – God Himself imparts His divine nature to us. He gives us spiritual gifts so that we may accomplish His purposes. He enables us. He empowers us. He protects us from the enemy. He provides; He heals; He strengthens; He gives us peace and joy! Thanks be to God!

Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” And with that He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.
— John 20:21-23
Jesus told Thomas, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.
— John 20:29

If we ask God, He will give us the Holy Spirit. If we ask Him, He will give us understanding and knowledge. If we ask Him, He will give us insight into the depth of His Love, the vastness of His loving kindness, the unimaginable kindness of His grace and mercy. He is the SOLUTION to our problem. We have only one problem – we have fallen short of His glory. He provides the One and Only Solution – JESUS CHRIST – the Sacrificial Lamb of God! All glory be to God!

Only the LAMB OF GOD is acceptable to our God. Only Jesus Christ, crucified on the cross pleases God. Man is forever forgiven, born again to receive eternal life. Hallelujah! Man is henceforth reconciled with God. Relationship with God is restored. Friendship is restored. Partnership with God begins. Once again, man can walk and talk with God. Indeed, I am reminded of all these blessings of God. Thank You Father!

Christmas reminds me of the birth of Christ, the day God came in the flesh to live with man – Immanuel – God with us. Let us celebrate God’s gift of love! Let us exalt the KING of Kings, the LORD of Lords! Let us seek to encounter God! Let us be refreshed, renewed and  revived to live for our King!

The Bible tells us,

When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as He was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on Him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.
— Luke 3:21-22

The Bible also tells us,

During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the One who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.
— Hebrews 5:7-10

Today, Jesus sits on the right hand of God; He is our Great High Priest; He intercedes for us. Today, God is still with us; He is the Holy Spirit; He enables us to accomplish His divine purposes. Hallelujah! Praise the LORD! Amen!
