Jesus called His followers and they left everything without hesitation to follow Him. Jesus, the Son of God left His heavenly abode without hesitation to do the will of the Father. To me, that’s the first lesson to learn in my pursuit of God.
We might evaluate our natural ability (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) and conclude that we are not good enough. Someone said, “I’m too old.” Another said, “I’m too weak.” Yet another said, “I’m always sick.” The Bible says:
Therefore, I boldly declare that I am saved. I will not perish. I have eternal life. I am not saved because I am good. I am saved because GOD IS GOOD. I am not saved because I have done enough good works. I am saved because mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13b). I have nothing to be proud of. Pride is of the devil. In the name of Jesus, I command pride to depart from me. My mind shall not entertain prideful thoughts. The Blood of the Lamb is washing me inside out. I shall continually feed on the Word of God. I shall allow the Word of God to wash me like water washes away dirt. I shall continually follow the leading of the Spirit. I shall allow the Holy Spirit to convict me like ‘dettol’ destroys harmful germs. I want to be found pure and blameless on the day of Christ. The day will come when I stand before God.
Today and everyday, I shall be joyful; I shall pray continually; I shall give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for me in Christ Jesus. I shall not put out the Spirit’s fire. I shall not treat prophecies with contempt. I shall test everything. I shall hold on to the good. I shall avoid every kind of evil.
May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify me through and through. May my whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
