Quiet Time with Jesus – What are you waiting for?

Thursday, 1 December 2016

Simeon was waiting for the consolation of Israel. Anna was waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem. What are you waiting for?

I have a burden. There seems to be no real change yet. Therefore, I keep on praying. God will answer my prayer, in His time. I will keep on praying.

Simeon waits. When the right time came, the Holy Spirit prompted and Simeon acted - the Holy Spirit was upon him and he prophesied:

Sovereign Lord, as You have PROMISED, You now dismiss Your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen Your SALVATION, which you have prepared in the sight of all people, a LIGHT for revelation to the Gentiles and for the glory to Your people Israel.
— Luke 2:29-32

What about Anna? She was also a prophetess. She worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. She gave thanks to God and spoke about the child Jesus to all who were looking forward to the REDEMPTION of Jerusalem. Luke 2:38

Do you marvel at His word and His work, His promises and His power? Do you marvel at what He has done and what He is doing? Are you waiting in anticipation for more?

Are you drawing near to your Father in heaven? Do you know what pleases Him? Do you know what grieves Him? Do you know His heart?

When Jesus told his eleven disciples to move… they moved. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. Yes, some doubted. Then Jesus said,

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore GO and MAKE DISCIPLES of ALL NATIONS, baptizing them IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND OF THE SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, and TEACHING them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
— Matthew 28:18-20

Do you marvel at His wonders? Will you move when He calls you to move? Will you become His messenger?

The Bible talks about ‘true fasting’ in Isaiah 58. Truly, I know very little about fasting… To Him I turn; On Him I lean; From Him I learn; Hallelujah!

I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my GOD. For He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign LORD will make righteousness and praise spring up before ALL NATIONS.
— Isaiah 61:10-11

Glory to the KING of kings! Honour to the LORD of Lords!

Hallelujah!

Amen!
