Quiet Time with Jesus – Intercession

Wednesday, 16 November 2016

The whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth. This is what we are going through now!
The Bible says that HOPE THAT IS SEEN IS NO HOPE AT ALL. Who hopes for what he already has? If we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently (Romans 8:22-25).
God has made a way for us when there seems to be no way. Our Great High Priest, Jesus Christ intercedes for us (Romans 8:34). The Holy Spirit intercedes for us (Romans 8:26-27). We intercede for one another (Ephesians 6:18).
God assures us that in all things He works for our good, we who have been called according to His purpose. God has predestined us to be conformed to the likeness of His Son. If God is for us, who can be against us?
The Bible tells us that we are more than conquerors through Christ who loved us.
The Bible also tells us that our struggle is NOT against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore, let us put on the FULL ARMOUR OF GOD, stand our ground, take the Sword of the Spirit (the Word of God) and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.
Whenever I encounter difficulties with any person whether he or she is a believer or not, I will refresh my mind and heart with these powerful verses in Romans and Ephesians. I will pray in the Spirit and ask God to fill me with His peace and wisdom, give me knowledge and revelation, guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus so that I may stay focused on God’s purposes for me.
We must remind one another constantly that our enemy is not a man or a woman but the evil forces operating in the spiritual realm.
Ephesians 5:21 to Ephesians 6:18 refers to life’s primary relationships.
God commands wives to submit to their husbands as to the Lord.
God commands husbands to love their wives, just as Christ loved the church.
God commands children to obey their parents in the Lord.
God commands fathers not to exasperate their children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
God commands slaves to obey their earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as they would obey Christ.
God commands masters to treat their slaves in the same way.
Are you a wife, husband, child, father, slave or master? Let us be aware that we may play different roles at different times.

My Prayer

Dear Father God,
We want to live as children of light. Help us to put off our old self which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires. Make us new in the attitude of our minds. Help us to put on the new self, created to be like You in true righteousness and holiness. Help us not to grieve the Holy Spirit. Help us to be kind and compassionate to one another. Help us to forgive each other just as in Christ You forgave us. Help us to live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to You.

There must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place but rather thanksgiving.
The Bible actually says that no immoral, impure or greedy person (an idolator) has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God (Ephesians 5:5).
It is ONLY in Christ and through faith in Him that we can approach God with freedom and confidence.

Our faith and our actions are working together, and our faith is made complete by what we do. Amen.
