Quiet Time with Jesus – Victory In Christ

Monday, 14 November 2016

During a group fellowship, my friend who is interested in how the brain works shared with us information that can help us combat dementia. It was very interesting! The key words: New Neurons (NN)

I am inspired to try new things, learn new skills, challenge myself to be a little stressed (not too much) because such activities generate NN and dementia will be kept at bay. God creates us ‘perfect’ and it is our responsibility to take care of ourselves – physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Science tells us many things about what God has created. Truly, He is an awesome Creator. Until today, we are still discovering ‘new’ information…

My friend said, “If you just read the Bible, go for walks, and memorize names of plants, and do nothing new to stimulate your brain, you will NOT get any new neurons.” “If you always play the piano - the same tune, always dance - the same movements, always cook - the same dishes… you will NOT get any new neurons. You must do something different, something new…”

Likewise, when we are troubled and we keep doing the same thing, we will not be able to get out of it. I recall the times when I was depressed - I kept going round and round in circles… God gave me a vision in 2009: A spiral staircase - I was going round and round – downward, not upward…

My Prayer

Dear Father God,

You have made every one of us uniquely beautiful and wonderful. Help us discover ourselves to know what we need physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Help us NOT to neglect any part of our body, soul and spirit.

Father, the greatest gift that You have given me is the Holy Spirit. He is my Helper, Counselor, Teacher, Guide, Friend… He is constantly with me. When I go round and round, it must be very painful to watch me!

Father, I know what it is like to be trapped. I am aware that many of my brothers and sisters in Christ are going through tests, trials, and temptations. They are suffering, O my God! Today, I cry out to You, O Lord, come and rescue us. Lift us up, dear God! You are mighty to save! Yes, You are!

Father, You are the God of all grace. You have called us to Your eternal glory in Christ. We are victorious in Christ! Amen!

Father, You promised that after we have suffered a little while, You will restore us and make us strong, firm and steadfast. Let us not waste the pain and suffering. You allow certain things to happen so that we may be strengthened. And after that, You want us to strengthen our brothers and sisters in Christ. It is so exciting to be of use to You, O my Lord and Master!

It is written:

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full Armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is NOT against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

We must stand firm, clothed in God’s Armor, take the sword of the Spirit (which is the word of God), and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. We pray for our own needs. We pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ. We pray for our leaders. We pray for our nation. We pray for the world. We pray that all may be saved because God does not want anyone to perish. Amen.

It is written:

Be alert and always keep on praying FOR THE SAINTS.

Father God, Paul was an ambassador in chains. Today, many of us are also 'ambassador in chains'. But, by the Power of the Holy Spirit, and in the Name of Jesus Christ, we can break those chains! Yes, we can! We can encounter You through Your Word and Your Spirit. We can be empowered to do what You have prepared in advance for us to do. Words will be given us so that we can fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel! Hallelujah!

Peace to all my brothers and sisters in Christ. Amen!

Please read Ephesians 5:21 to 6:18; As we read, may the eyes of our heart be enlightened to see clearly life’s primary relationships, the reality of spiritual warfare and the promise of victory.

The world shall see that our faith and our actions are working together. Our faith is made complete by what we do (James 2:22).

Thanks be to God! Amen!
