Quiet Time with Jesus – Great Commission

Friday, 28 October 2016

Every person we see around us is created by God. Every person has a story to tell. I live in an estate where I frequently see the poor, sick, handicap, elderly… Poverty and hunger is just next door!
I have seen people helping an elderly woman when she fell in the bus; I have seen people helping an elderly man cross the road; It is easy to be kind. As disciples of Jesus Christ, do we instantly think about redemption when we see the poor and needy, the sick and suffering, the disabled and dying people around us? When we see a child misbehaving, what are our immediate thoughts? Do we love or blame?
There are people around us being neglected. There are people around us being misled. There are people around us living in despair and depression. Before we do anything, let us give thanks to our God for His goodness and grace. We have been saved from the pit of death, and raised up to live in Christ. We do not want to go back to ‘Egypt’. We do not want to look back at Sodom and Gomorrah!
O Heavenly Father, we want to praise You again and again! O God in heaven, hallowed be Thy name1 Thy Kingdom come! Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven! Amen!
Your mercy has lifted me from the miry clay. Your restoration is upon me. Your rod and staff are with me as I continue to walk this journey. My eyes are fixed on You! I will run the race and not be weary. I will walk the narrow path and not be faint. Because You are with me. You'd never let go; You'd never let go of me! Amen!

This is what God the LORD says – He who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: “I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.
— Isaiah 42:5-7

The LORD will march out like a mighty man! The LORD is a mighty warrior! With a shout the LORD will raise the battle cry and triumph over His enemies! Hallelujah!

Yes! Lord Jesus, You wear the Victor’s Crown! You overcome; You overcome; You wear the Victor’s Crown!
